Big win for Maynard and the Devils!!! We have been waiting a long time in flatwoods for a team that we could be proud of again and with that statement win we now have that again. Russell is officially back to being a team that people will respect again inside our own class. We are now over the hump and two wins away from our first district title in 7 years. These boys should be very proud of themselves all the hard work they did paid off. Give credit to the hog Molly's and big uglies up front they got the job done tonight. The devils looked like ones of old control the line of scrimmage, snapping on their oppenants, and running wild for over 350 yards on the ground. They say tradition never graduates but until this year I was beginning to wonder, but not now. We are back in flatwoods, let's keeping rolling guys!! I was doubter of bringing TJ , but I was wrong. What you have done in such a short time Mr. Maynard confirms you were the right man for the job; some crow well ate!

This is a nice win for the Devils but counting the teams records that Mason has played counting last night(Friday) They have a record of 10-35 and some said that Mason was not as good as they have been in the past few yrs. I will say that the Devils are a better team from the past few yrs and I do believe that they will win the district with the teams that they have left. I want to see how much they have improved from last yr when Pikeville won 56-28. When they play each other at the end of the month. I think Russell will a few games come playoff time...Things are looking up for them....

Good win Devils. When discussing the Devils with the late Sam Smith, he had said that this team will hopefully fly under the radar and take the district back. Well I'm sure we are becoming blips on a lot of teams radar now. This team really plays well together like a Greek Hydra. When you key on two backs the other one will get ya.

Seems like some of the other "unbeatable" teams around 3A are dropping like flies.
Stinks that we have to wait 3 weeks to see what kind of team Russell truly is.

Congrats on the win. I said way back after the Russell-v-Lawrence scrimmage that this Russell team would win some games. It saddens me at the complete different directions the two teams have went from that game till now. This Lawrence team has a ton of tallent and I don't understand how a team plays great to start the season and then gets worse as the season goes but the same thing happened last year.
