Most schools that have some tradition at all usually have websites with this type of thing.

My records just go just a little bit further, then what s posted on the web site. but I got to say don't have every team or have a complete record, still working on it.

Paris is the a program that had a great year at 9-3 in in 2013, but is still no where near the Class A power they once where.

1974 9-2? beat Bardstown 14-12, lost Murray 8-19 State semi
1975 ??
1976 4-7
1977 6-5
1978 7-4
1979 5-5

Other then in 1998 8-4, 2001 10-2, and of course in 2013, Paris once dominated Class A at one time. I think the program has a bright future.

Fleming Neon became part of Letcher Co. Central in 2005. A have good friend of mine is John Hall he was the QB at Neon form 1989-92, he was pretty good and a great part of the district title in 1992, they beat Pikeville that year 23-16. The only District title Pikeville did not win form 1986 to 1996.

Coach Jack Hall (side saddle jack) put together some tough teams to beat in those days. Very much respect for his coaching abilities.
#38
Coach Jack Hall was a great Coach,I know he coached at Elkhorn City and won a state title there. I have a gap between Elkhorn City 1964 and Betsy Layne 1985-86 and after that he was at Fleming neon 1987-92 as a head coach, I am pretty sure he won 200 games as a Head coach I may be wrong.

Coaching record of Jack Hall that I have.
Elkhorn City
1964 11-1-1 state title
?????
Betsy Layne
1985 3-6
1986 6-4
Fleming Neon
1987 4-7
1988 9-3
1989 4-7
1990 3-8
1991 9-3
1992 10-2 District title

That is all I have on Jack Hall, if any body has any info on him let me know?

During the early 80's Clay County had several elementary schools that went through the eighth grade and played football. Pretty good feeder system with lots of kids actually playing, not just on the team and practicing. Having an ol' Cutshin boy who was a pretty good coach didn't hurt things, either.
#40
Don't know his name, but Clay Co. had one the best QB in the state playing for them in the mid 80's

Sean Pennington owned the records on passing for the state of Kentucky for 7 or 8 years, he had a great career. I wish I had year by year numbers on passing.

Correct on both counts. Pennington was a great high school player and Coach Eugene Hensley did a fantastic job as coach of the Tigers. Clay County is not an easy place to coach football. He was, and is, an outstanding individual and role model.

How long did Eugene Hensley coach at Clay County? Pennington played form 1982-85 is what I thinking.
#46
This is just a guess, as there's been a lot time pass since then, but I think six or seven years. Could be wrong and if so apologies. Clay had some pretty good teams during those years, with Pennington throwin' it around. This was well before throwing the ball became popular.

No apologies needed, we are just trying to rediscover great history and great coaches and player involved in it. I think the program was started in 1977, but I could be wrong on it.

1977 2-9
1978 7-5
1979 3-8

I don't have anything on them form 1980-82.
#48
Coach Hensley did not start the program at Clay County. The first coach was Terry Wilson. Eugene followed him. I'm not sure on the years.

Russellville has a great program and here is the reason why, all these season under Coaching great Ken Barrett.

1979 7-6 beat Campbellsville 21-0, lost Richmond Madison 6-13
1980 12-2 beat Tompkinsville 10-0, beat Owen Co. 25-13, beat Bellevue 16-0 Class A state title
1981 9-4 beat Tompkinsville 14-7, lost Paris 0-14 state semi
1982 5-6
1983 13-1 beat Fulton Co. 28-0, beat Edmonson Co. 42-0, beat Paris 19-7, beat Cumberland 42-13 Class A state title
1984 12-1 beat Heath 21-7, beat Campbellsville 27-0, lost Paris 0-7 state semi
1985 5-6
1986 5-4
1987 11-4 beat Murray 28-0, beat Heath 43-24, beat Paris 24-20, lost Pikeville 6-28 state runner-ups
1988 5-7 lost Murray 6-7
1989 6-3
1990 13-1 beat Fulton City 46-6, beat Todd Co. Central 21-6, Frankfort 41-14, beat Bellevue 21-7 Class A state title
1991 8-5 beat Fulton Co. 40-6, beat Murray 15-13, lost Heath 0-14 Regional Finals
1992 12-2 beat Ballard Memorial 28-0, beat Murray 13-0, beat Heath 14-9, lost Bardstown 7-29 state semi
1993 9-3 beat Fulton City 27-14, lost Fulton Co. 17-36
1994 10-3 beat Fulton City 40-0, beat Todd Co. Central 34-8, lost Murray 17-20 TO Regional finals

Russellville should not be on my list because of all the success they have had since, 2007 10-3, 2009 8-5, 2010 9-4, 2013 10-3 all teams where in Regional Finals. Russellville will win the state title in the future.
