How would you rank teams in West Ky for 2013?
#1
How would you rank the teams in West Ky this year? I would say the list should be kept to the following, not in particular order:

Mayfield
Graves County
Paducah Tilghman
McCracken County
Murray
Calloway County
Ballard Memorial
Trigg County
Crittendon County
Christian County
Hopkinsville
Fort Campbell
Fulton City
Fulton County
Caldwell County
#2
I will start this off by giving my picks. It is early, very early, but this is what I think right now.

Mayfield
Caldwell County
Fort Campbell
Paducah Tilghman
Graves County
McCracken County
Murray
Christian County
Trigg County
Calloway County
Crittendon County
Ballard Memorial
Marshall County (I forgot, add them to the list)
Hopkinsville
Fulton County
Fulton City

Out of curiosity why would Bowling Green and Owensboro areas not be considered WKY?

Based on My Definition of what I consider WKY:

1. Bowling Green
2. Warren Central
3. Mayfield
4. Caldwell County
5. Henderson County
6. Graves County
7. Meade County
8. Tilghman
9. McCracken County
10. Warren East
11. Owensboro
12. Ft. Campbell
13. Greenwood
14. Owensboro Catholic
15. Christian County

Because they would have teams ranked ahead of his team Mayfield.

The original list is essentially schools in or near the Jackson Purchase which was then described as western Kentucky. If it is Wky - Russellville probably should be on the list. If you include Henderson County, then Union County and Webster County are on there also. Neither of the Hopkins County schools are listed. I'm not saying any of those latter schools would merit a top 15 status, however Russellville is usually very competitive and Union was tough in 3A a few years ago but they are now 2A.

Mayfield is head and shoulders better than everybody else. Beyond Mayfield it does not matter because they are so much better than the other teams.

Russellville, Warren Central and Bowling Green are all almost a 3 hour drive from West Ky. That is why they weren't included. If they were, Bowling Green would certainly be #1. Some of the guys around here would give me crap for saying Christian County, Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell were in this area. I guess its all in the perception.

Anywhere West of Glasgow is Western Kentucky. Just ask anyone from Eastern Kentucky. Mayfield would be hard pressed to make top 5.

#55 Bowling Green, Henderson, ect are all in WKY! I know we are so deep in WKY that those places are far off but they are WKY. I think you mean the Purchase Area and a little east

I would think anything west of Western Ky University would safely be on the list. What we have here is a thread where Mayfield and the Warren County fans vie for supremacy.

Bowling Green
Warren Central
Lone Oak
Owensboro Catholic
After that, who knows

So Longmire, you would rank the old Lone Oak and Owensboro Cath ahead of Mayfield. I cant really argue the first 2 but these two I would have some serious questions about. Lone Oak had one year, I think 2008, where I would say they may have been better than us. Outside of that they get beat by PT all the time, have never beat us and have never won a title. OC always struggles with Murray, who has only beat us once since 1993 that I know of. That took a very rainy sloppy field for them to beat us on that night on an opening kickoff return in 1997. Also ask their freshman class just what Mayfield is about. They came up here in the 8th grade playoffs last season and learned.

Now Cellking, you would not rank Mayfield in the top 5. What teams would you have ahead of us. Now bear in mind, it canit be PT. We have beaten them 7 straight years now. It cant be Murray, just look at my previous paragraph for that answer. Fort Campbell has come close recently to what Mayfield has done. It cant be Caldwell just yet, even though I think they will be really tough this year. Russellville will give us a very hard nosed game, but I don't know about them either. So who, just please justify your response.

I think you need to work on you're reading comprehension. I didn't rank any of the Western Kentucky teams. I live in Somerset and almost never see any of them play so I don't feel like I know enough about them to rank them. FBfan4life ranked his top 4 and I simply pointed out that Lone Oak was no longer a school. Don't call me out for something I didn't say.
