Estill County 2 - Breathitt County 1
#1
Final
#2
Breathitt should have won this one. Hamilton completely dominated Estill. Gave up no hits. Little control issues and a pass ball gave Estill their two runs. Estill made a couple great defensive plays to make the two runs hold up.

How did Breathitt get their run and who pitched for Estill? I wasn't there and never did hear. What innings were the runs scored?

By the sound and look of things, it was a pitchers duel

I don't know his name. Some kid throwing around 70-72. Had descent control. Estill scored 1 in the first on a wild pitch and 1 in the 4th or 5th on a pass ball. Breathitt scored on a mental error by Estill's catcher which has to be scored a hit because you charge a mental error. If Hamilton just throws it down the middle every pitch Breathitt wins cause Estill's hitters had no chance. They didn't put many balls in play at all.

Alex did dominate but threw 113 pitches and was pretty shakey in first few innings. A real important fact for Estill, Andrew Farmer got his first varsity start and pitched an excellent game himself. Breathitt scored their only run on an error. This was a great pitched game by both teams.

I wasn't there so I didn't have any stats or anything and neither team has gamechanger this year

Estill's shortstop and second baseman saved the game with two great diving plays on the two hardest balls hit all night.

So, Hamilton throws a no-hitter and loses 2-1? How many Ks and BBs did he have?
