Report: Auburn Tigers Coaches Bribed Players, Altered Grades on National Champion
#1
There is a damning report coming out from former New York Times and Sports Illustrated writer Selena Roberts that has troubling news about the Auburn Tigers team led by Gene Chizik that went on to win the BCS National Championship following the 2010 season. Among the details in Roberts report on Roopstigo.com, Auburn’s football program changed players’ grades to secure eligibility and even offered money to potential NFL draft picks so they would return for their senior seasons.

There were reportedly as many as nine players that would have been ineligible for Auburn’s appearance in the national title game, but the school found a way to make those athletes eligible.

montgomery advertiser: report claims auburn committed violations

An article written by Selena Roberts states that Auburn committed numerous NCAA violations in 2010, the year they won the BCS championship. You can read Roberts story here: Auburn's tainted title: roopstigo

Some of the accused charges are:
Payments to players: offering juniors money to not turn pro early
Academic fraud: grades being changed to remain eligible
Recruiting violations: exceeding allowed ncaa stipend for recruiting visits

this is not the 1st time former auburn players have said this has happened in the last decade. a few years ago, several former tigers told bryant gumbel that they were paid after every game at auburn.

Every team is guilty of something.
Its the ones who dont get caught who are the true heroes.

One good thing for Auburn is that this situation comes at a bad time for the NCAA as everyone will be rightfully skeptical (to say the least) of their investigation committees and especially their pathetic leadership (cough, cough Mark Emmertt).

While i don't doubt this, and have thought they would get caught eventually. I wouldn't take the word of the reporter Selena Roberts too seriously. Her credibility is not very good at the moment since the Duke Lacrosse episode...Saying that, i don't doubt players were bribed, it's been a thing since Cam Newton just couldn't prove it.....

newton will maintain his innocence, and the ncaa infractions committee shouldn't waste time talking to newton. there's only one guy they need to talk to: gene chizik

So What ever happened to that North Carolina scandal?

Same thing that happened to the Duke scandal of 1999.

What scandals? There will be no stinking scandals...

NCAA has Schultz from Hogans Heroes on watch!
