Player Rankings for each Region
#1
Rank the top players in your region and possibly give some insight as what kind of year you expect from some players.
#2
16th Region-
Burns- Best athlete in the region, very explosive, best at getting in the paint, is coming off knee surgery but i expect him to have a good year once he returns.
Steward- Long and Lanky wing that is a good athlete, shoots the 3 very well
Ruckel- Scoring machine, scores from everywhere including the free throw line, good quickness, could lead the region in scoring
Miller- shoots the 3 very well, good rebounder, going to be the go to guy for Ashland this year with the departure of Dixson
Perry- Scorer, only a sophomore but will have the capability of putting up good numbers every night, very crafty player
Thacker- played really well last in regional tourney before getting injured, he is another player returning from off season knee surgery,
Griffith- scorer, he can get hot and put up nice numbers for Boyd county
McGuire- post player for Russell should have a big year for the Red Devils
Nickel- Scorer from Elliott County that can go for 20 or 30 a night, should lead his team back to the regional tourney this year
Walker- he should have an improved year for the Lions of Lewis Co.

14th Region
Braxton Beverly -Perry Central- Can flat out play the game and puts in more time than anyone.
Justin Johnson - Perry Central - Pure Athlete. Love to see him play the 3.
Damon Tobler - Perry Central - FREAK - Another bigger stronger version of Jaysean Paige.
Chris Hudson - Hazard - Awesome Big man.
Josh Hollan - Hazard - Very smart player that can do it all.
Cameron Justice - Knott Central - Can flat out play the game.
Evan Hall - Knott Central - All around talent.
Malik Hines - Cordia - Very athletic
Cunningham - Cordia - Stats dont lie.

Theres a ton of talent in the Region. Strongest it has ever been. Buckhorn has some nice players. Leslie County has a strong team. Not gonna be any easy wins in this region this season unless you schedule Riverside and I heard they may be going to turn it into another Cordia soon.

14th Region: Top 15 imo. Not in order.

Malik Hines-Cordia- Grew about 4 inches this summer and is back in basketball shape. Will be hard for anyone in the state to handle this athletic 6'11 big man.

Christen Cunningham-Cordia- Crazy athletic combo guard. Can score and make plays at will.

Camron Justice-KCC- Best Scorer in the region. Gets buckets in bunches and is an assassin from the arc.

Justin Johnson-PCC- Freak Athlete and a powerhouse in the post.

Braxton Beverly-PCC- One of the best guards in the region. Very high basketball iq imo. Don't make many mistakes if any.

Evan Hall-KCC- 6'7 athlete can fly. Supposedly put on 20lbs of muscle and extended his range this summer.

Chris Hudson-Hazard- 6'7 big man can do damage on the inside, but can pull back at some points and you don't even know he's on the court.

Josh Hollan-Hazard- Combo guard that can make things happen for his team when others cant.

A.j Tagaloa-Cordia- Another combo guard that can create his own shot. Very efficient from the field.

Oumar Keita-Cordia- More then likely the best 14 year old in the state. 7'0 big man cleans the boards like no other. Very ball smart for his age.

Chance Cornett-KCC-Helps on the boards and is a very good defensive player.

Fritz Lucien-Cordia- 6'9 swingman man handle the ball and knock down the open three. Most efficient imo when in high post position.

Matt Thompson-Hazard- Marksman from three. And handles the ball pretty well

Simon Christan-KCC-Very good wing player. And knocks down the occasional three.

Josh Owens-LCC- Their best player besides gregory last season. Plays hard and very good defensive player.

Cunningham transfered to Cordia? I hear he was going somewhere but didn't know where. I really enjoyed watching play both times I saw him. Don't know why he would leave a good Henry Clay team though

John Turner Jackson City avg a double double
Sean Hughes Riverside 22.1 pts a game

13th Region Top 5
1. Mcdaniel-(Clay) His post season performance was something to watch. when this kid gets on fire look out!
2. Fox-Jackson Co- All around good player, pretty consistent.
3. Allen(Clay)- The 6'9'' big man is what clay has been missing for quiet sometime now. can also shoot that little jumper. If he will stay on the block, he will be hard to stop!
4. Barger (Knox)- Great supervision of the court, knows how to run a ball team, smart, makes the right decision.
5. Baxter (South Lau)- Look for this kid to have a big season, can shoot the jumper and were he's a little taller can shoot over smaller guards in the region.
5. Potter (Bell)- Scoorer's mentality, works hard, great conditioned player.

Who are the 14th top 5? I haven't seen the Cordia players on the floor except Cunningham. My picks would be:

Johnson - Perry
Beverly - Perry
Justice - Knott
Cunningham - Cordia
Hollan - Hazard
#12
Justice is flat out the best shooter in that region. I was thoroughly impressed with all the talent listed on the above posts. When is the last time you seen this many great players across all these regions. Speaks well for eastern Kentucky.Best of luck to all these kids. They deserve all the recognition they get. These kids work their tails off.
