Final from Pond Creek.
Pretty good road win, gotta be quicker to step on the throats.
PHS: Rowe 29, Kasongo 20, Hamilton 15, Silvers 8, Johnson 4, May 3

Give ya one future WV transfer and a 2nd round draft pick for Rowe. Lol

Nice win for the Panthers. Belfry will get better as the season continues and should be a factor in the post season.

I know this was posted as a joke and a good one at that but if the state followed the idea of many posters on this site and made all transfers eligible such things would become common place and most star players would go to the highest bidders.

With the win, Pikeville improves to 14-3 in the last 17 against Belfry in hoops. Unfortunately in the last 17 on the gridiron, Belfry holds a 14-3 advantage over the Panthers. Pretty cool fun fact though.
Obviously fans of both schools know which means more to both communities, but still a nice run for the small school over the big school on the hardwood.

Wasn't Belfry the favorite. Pretty good win for Pike. Looks like this region is really wide open. The teams that get hot at the end will be in regional finals and that could be 2 of any 10 teams in that region.

Not one "Congrats Pikeville" from any Belfry fan on here, even though some of them posted in the thread. It's not in them haha. nicker:

Heard Messer posterized a few panther's with a nice dunk! Wonder if the Pikeville Independent newspaper will have a picture of that? irateSho

Maybe, but the article probably will focus on the 20-point Pikeville win......

Of course it will! Probably a 2 page article. HAIL CANADA!:hilarious:

The Messer play was nasty, and well designed. No posterizations though haha. A great ball reversal and perfectly timed back screens with a tremendous pass and a great finish. Messer looked like superman, full extension. Great play.

Boys I didn't know I had to say "congrats" ... Y'all know you did well and spanked us by 20. Lol. Good job fellas
And yeah, I wonder what Belfry's dunk record is ... That's like 8 I've seen this year. Messer also nearing 1000 points and the career rebound record.

Wanna give a shoutout though, to Panther Thunder. Dude is a PHS diehard and I respect that, cannot remember the last time I was at a sporting event featuring Pikeville (middle or high) and didn't see him there. Never have gotten a chance to come talk though. Even though I had to Unfollow him on twitter after the Belfry state game, haha.

My bad, rivalries run deep  I will always congratulate a rival at this level, but can't bring myself to root for one. That is why they are rivalries, and the best are built on hate, but respect, IMO.

No biggie, haha. But when you look at twitter directly after the game it's a soft spot lol

Pikeville is starting to play really good.

Wouldn't ya know after I posted that I crossed PT a the Upike game tonight and said what's up... First time I've talked to a non-Belfry BGR member in person.
Yeah they are, Ethan Rowe scores like no other. Love his game.
