Nicest Places to play in the 14th reigon
#1
What do yall think?
#2
I have always liked the Breathitt Coliseum, even before I started working there.
#3
I haven't been to all the gyms in the 14th, but from the ones I have been to, I like Knott County, and Letcher Central's gymnasiums. I'm gonna make a trip to Perry County to watch a game this year because I hear its pretty nice as well!
#4
As far as facilities it doesn't get much better than Knott and Perry, but as far as atmosphere goes I don't think you can beat Memorial Gym, sure the parking sucks but it's a great place to watch a game!
#5
^ Agreed!
#6
Gotta agree with king. Knott and perry are bigger facilities, but as a guard I loved shooting at memorial, cordia, jenkins, and powell.

I forgot about the Memorial Gym! I really enjoy watching ball games there. I would love to play in that gym right now actually! Haha

Perry and Knott

There isn't another place that really sparks my fancy. I do enjoy watching games at Hazard and Breathitt - but the parking destroys it for me.
#9
Nicest place - Perry

Funniest - Hazard (playing anyways)

Knott County Central

I don't see how you can't include Jackson City? Great atmosphere.
Oh, and did I mention the visiting locker rooms?

Can't go wrong there
#13
Jackson City has to be in the conversation with their great atmosphere and old-school facilities. Oh, and did I mention the visiting locker rooms?
#14
Im a big fan of Breathits gym myself!
#15
I will add that I like Memorial Gym and the gym at Knott Central as well. Knott definitely has some of the best parking.

One thing all those gyms have in common is the way the floor sits below the level of the seats and it makes for a really nice view of the game. For watching a game I prefer that type of setting over a gym like the one at PCC which has seating floor level right to the edge of the court. Still a very nice gym with great parking and location but to me not as good for watching a game.
#16
When I Coached in the 14th I didn't like to play in any of those places.LOL
#17
Perry is extremely nice and Knott Central is a great place to watch a game.
#18
I Know The Best Gym To Play In Is John C Combs Arena Go PCC !!!!!!!!!!!
#19
I think the "BOX" at Riverside is a cozy place to play
#20
I am sorry , I think they changed the name of Riverside's Gym from the BOX and it has been renamed the "Coal Bucket" this is very true...The "Coal Bucket" is a great place to play

powell county baby
#22
Player shooting background/rims-Memorial Coliseum

Parking-Powell County

Seating- Morton Combs Arena

Concession/hospitality room- Letcher Central

Band area- P Combs arena
#23
Not Hazard. The asbestos will kill you. I f that doesn’t do it then the sets will that are crammed up you butt along with the person beside you.
#24
Facilities - Letcher, Knott, Perry

Shooting - Cordia, Powell, Jenkins(I always had good shooting games there)

Atmosphere - Hazard, Cordia(has its moments), Leslie(54th district play is always crazy there)
#25
I think it really depends on who is playing the game. Leslie County does have one wild atmosphere during the 54th district. When I played, I loved shooting on Breathitts floor. As a spectator, I really like Breathitt or PCC.
#26
Can't believe I forgot about Letcher
#27
The most unique facilities are Breathitt and Hazard. Knott and Perry overall are problably the best the 14th region has to offer.
#28
Knott and Perry
#29
I like Powell County's gym. The lighting is great, maybe the best in the region. It seats 3500. And the parking is one of the best in the region with multiple outlets to get back on the Mountain Parkway.

i like the seats at knott co..
very comfortable on the butt..
