Cov. Holy Cross @ Cov. Holmes 10/26

"These two teams don't like each other very much!" - Keith Jackson

This is one of the most heated rivalries in the state, with tempers flaring every time the 2 have played each other. Both teams play their home games at Holmes and several kids on both teams grew up in the same neighborhood. Last year's game was called in the 3rd quarter when the lights went out, benefiting both teams before a fight broke out. It's the Covington City Championship, but unlike basketball, this one is pure bragging rights.

Holmes has lost 2 straight to Highlands and CovCath, other than that the Bulldogs have had a great season, beating NCC and Beechwood. Holy Cross has had a rough year coming off a state title, hampered with key injuries for most of the season. Unlike Holmes, the Indians lost to Beechwood and NCC.

Both teams are the 3rd seed in their district, which probably means this is the last game played at Tom Ellis Field for the season. Thoughts?
