Thoughts and predictions.

Garrard all the way.... I understand that Bourbon is a great team. They have been playing very sound ball. I have one question to ask, Who has Bourbon played? At least Garrard has played real competition. Their loses Anderson, Lincoln, and Bath. In which all are having a great season. Plus all loses are VERY close. I do believe that Coach Scenters will have the Lions completely ready, and rid of the silly mistakes that lions have made!! No fumbles, special teams will be ready and no silly penalties ! Let's go GC!!

I believe GC all the way! Don't get me wrong I do believe that Bourbon is a great team, however, who have they played? Gc has played some good teams this year! Anderson for example.Their loses have came from silly mistakes.... The lost to Bath was an eye opener to the Lions!! I do believe that Coach Scenter will have the boys mentally ready, no more fumbles, or silly penalties . The Lions looked more focused during the Powell Co.game, even playing in the mudsling and fog! I think the game will be very close, and very emotional for both teams... GC will GET THE VICTORY

Garrard seems to be a bit down, and Bourbon seems to be fairly legit.
Bourbon should be able to name the score.
Im going to go with
Bourbon - 55
Garrard - 13

Garrard does not have the horses to play with Bourbon. Just my opinion. Garrards best chance is play down and dirty and and keep Bourbons offense off the field and frustrate them.

This game could be one that creates a lot of fireworks. A Garrard alum returns home to coach on the field he played on. He brings a team loaded with skilled players.
The game will be determined upfront. Whichever team can control the line of scrimmage will probably take home a victory. This was suppose to be Garrard's experienced strength of the team, however to date, this has been the area that has struggled the most. The o-line of Bourbon was probably it's biggest question mark but has be able to open holes and give the QB the time to throw.
If Bourbon is as good as advertised, points might come in bunches. Their ball coach has been influenced by some very successful leaders, Jerry Perry, Chuck Smith and Larry French. All three would make you stop them from scoring no matter the score and mashed the pedal to the floor for 4 quarters. If Garrard can not improve it's line play, the Colonels may light up the scoreboard.
If anyone is looking for a game to attend Friday night, make your way to Lancaster and enjoy the show. Last years game would qualify as one of the most exciting Friday nights for both schools in some time.

Mistakes have cost GC in every loss. Played more disciplined and controlled with Powell
with only a couple of mistakes. If they can keep mistakes to a minimum, it will be an
interesting turn of events come Friday.. Still several positions moving around with several
offensive structures... We haven't seen the best of GC,,, yet!!!

Bourbon County is legit this season, a ton of weapons offensively and a lot of overall speed.
I'll take Bourbon County 49-21

Having played Garrard and getting to watch Bourbon, I think Bourbon is loaded for bear (golden Lion)...lol. Bourbon should roll in this contest. Too many weapons.

Bourbon has a high powered offense. They have not been put to the test this season. If GC can keep it close early they may have a chance if not look for Bourbon to roll.

I would say this will be a lot closier than we all think. I believe this game will be close until Bourbon breaks it open with Hopkins show.

They are a very good team. They will roll.

To answer your question KYequipmentmgr:
Not really,,, Starting O-line and D-line back, FB and 4 year QB starter from last year..
We lost some speed with Hayes, Wilson, and McCoy, but the junior talent is there. There
is some emphasis on freshman in skill positions that need to get their confidence level up.
There is still several positions being juggled around. My thoughts are that these guys
will be needed and will have to step up come playoff time, and it is in the teams best
interest to get them ready.
I'm not complaining, we are setting at 3-3. The three losses total 10 points. Loss by 8
to Anderson County (5A 5-1) with several mistakes and TD called back for penalty; Loss by 1 point to Lincoln (5A 3-4) with several mistakes inside the 20 and 3 TD's with NO
converted PAT's and TD called back for penalty, Loss by 1 point to Bath (3A 6-1) with 2
failed PAT's, a TD called back for penalty and a missed field goal.
Now is the time for the team to buckle down and pull it all together!

Keller is back, but may see limited time. Nothing broke, just needed several
stitches...

First half will be a close game but I look for Bourbon to impose their will and pull away on the 2nd half.

Everybody's writing the Golden Lions off, so I'm going to go against the grain and say that Garrard puts together 4 quarters of 'Golden Lion Football' tonight and knocks off the unbeaten Colonels. Should be a heck of game tonight with a phenominal atmosphere...can't wait until kickoff!!
WE ARE GC!
WE ARE GC!

Anything can happen but Bourbon "should" win this game going away.

Good luck to Coach Hodge and the Bourbon County Colonels.
