What kind of computer?

What kind of computer would you recommend that I purchase? I have a desktop already but want another laptop. I had a Dell laptop before and it was a piece of crap. So, I don't want another Dell.

I would still recommend a Dell over everything else from my experience. Compaq, HP, Gateway, etc. are all pretty poorly made.

Gotta agree with Alfus. Which you may wanna look at Sony Vaio which is what I have and it's great. Or a good one I have found is alienware. They are pretty expensive but I know people who have them and they love it.

I was looking online earlier at a Sony Vaio, it seemed like a nice one.

I hated my gateway desktop. My dell desktop is awesome. But I just got a new gateway lap top and I love it. Its one of those with the relvolving screen and the toch screen. Def. check them out.

Dell is far and away the best Personal computer you can find.

I would ask what was wrong with your other Dell that made it crap?

I work on computers on the side, you'd be amazed how many people say, "Oh, my computer is crap", only to look at it and realize that it's crap b/c of the what they put on it, spam, spyware, junk that should never have been on it.

9 times out of 10 you either bought something you were uninformed on, or you made it crap.

Dell doesn't make crap and if they do, they will fix it. I have a DVD burner go out on mine, they overnighted me one and I had a replacement the next day.

Ya I've got a Toshiba laptop with 17" monitor. The Satellite P35 Series an S609. I've had it going on two years and it's given me good service. Why I went with it was because it was about $400.00 cheaper than the Dell equivalent and had 40 gig more hard drive space. But I gotta agree with 98NCCALUM, Dell makes a great computer, most times it's us that make it crappy. Me included.

Well I tried to let some dude fix it and he ended up messing it up far worse than what it was already messed up. The AC connector thing was coming loose from the motherboard and so it wouldn't stay charged. He tried to fix it and ended up making a huge mess. So yeah, it's junk now. I probably would have been better off sending it to Dell...but the time before that I did send it to them and they sent it back to me, it worked for a couple weeks then messed up again and did the same thing. I think a lot of people were having trouble with that model of laptop. Inspiron 5150 I think...

get you an alienware computer.. that's what i want. anyway..

i've got a compaq presario2100, and i haven't had but minor trouble with it.. i've had it for 3 years now and it's still goin strong.. i also have an hp laptop.. but i haven't used it much so i can't really tell much about it..

I have a hp desktop and it worked good up until here recentally but I repleaced the hardrive with a gateway one and now it's working good. I used Balla's sony Vaio over my home-school days and it did good but it messed up sometimes....the screen sucked. I have a Dell laptop now that is a Graduation present. It has a 17" screen and it's pretty cool looking....I can't wait to test it out!

I have a Dell Inspiron 1100, I got it a few years ago, and it still works really well, and I'm sure they have new models out

You will have people that will complain about ANY brand. It's just like the Chevy versus Ford. It's all a matter of opinion and then it turns into the owner messing it up eventually and not knowing it.
