Clay Co. 28 - Perry Co. Central 19
#1
Final. The power game of Clay Co. was just a litte to much for the commodores.

Clay Co. 2-1
Perry Co. 0-3
#2
Clay Co. simply ran the ball down the Dores throat!

Congrats Tigers

Wow. I guess PCC REALLY needs to play the rest of the season in Airport Gardens, huh?
#4
PCC needs to try get some more kids out with size to play on the line because they have no size.
#5
i agree with you bac, the tigers offensive and defensive line was massive especially the Hyde kid. Come this off season i would say Coach Haddix will have his players hit the weight room extremely hard, im not saying that they didnt this past off season. Now on a positive note PCC has been in all three games in the past three weeks against two good caliber teams. I don't really know all that much about Clay Co. I am going to predict PCC gets over the hump in week four, after a hard week of practice.

Nice to see Perry getting back to true Commodore football...
#7
Big win for Clay! Did not see this one:pondering:
#8
My bro had this one DVR'd and i must say im not impresses with big lineman from Clay. I think Perry did an excellent job at double teaming him and driving him off the ball all night.
Its a rebuilding year for PCC. They will get a couple of wins.
#9
Congrats to clay on the big win.

Im just glad to see those 4,000 PCC fans that gave me hell last year gone.

Whered they go
#11
Congrats Clay!

If Perry manages to get beat by Lawrence, Sheldon Clark, and Letcher, that 10-0 season predicted by warmachine could be flip flopped.
Not trying to rag on Perry, but whats the PCC faithfuls thoughts?

IMO, Perry will have a close game with Lawrence, and Sheldon Clark. Should lose to Rock, Whitley, Harlan County, and Somerset, and should beat Letcher.

I believe Perry is better than they seem right now, but what needs to change in order to turn the season around?
#13
They have to work on defense. And #4 must get the ball more or its going to be a 2-8 or 1-9 season. I said 3-7 but at thus point Im not sure they make it to a 3-7 season. They cant stop no one but Clay is better than people think.
#14
I agree with ballboy.. Beatty needs the ball more so use him at half back and call some screens or throw a bubble screen or give it to him on a jet sweep. Perry seems to me to only play about 3 quarters and take one off. PCC played very sloppy last night and i believe if they would of played better i beleive they may of got a W here.

If he got double teamed all night, had some big tackles/plays and completely disrupted the inside running attack by Perry I think that's pretty impressive.

If Perry was driving him off the ball all night, the coaching staff made a terrible decision by not running it over top of him all night. Perry should have scored 56 points, right?

power game? clay county? whats up?
#17
their getting better each week ....they will make a run come November...
#18
Hyde played every play at 330 IBS, so he may not have made every play in high heat. Can't wait until the Whitley game. You seem to have forgotten last year Clay lost at Whitley only due to a bogus fumble on the one. And Clay lost only a couple of players that played in that game.

C'mon man.

Perry will be fine, just need to keep their heads up. Congrats to Clay on the win.

How did pcc's QB do?

I can only speak for myself Wink

I really underestimated how big of a rebuild that this was.

Every 5A team in the state outweighs us by an average of 40 lbs per lineman (if I had to guess).

On the bright side - my nephew signed up for youth football this year and they had the biggest turnout in history for Perry County. They have well over 200 kids sign up to play. Maybe in a few years Perry will have the numbers on the sidelines that most other schools their size has.

They've been in every game and I'm confident they will do alright...
but that run defense saddens me.

The last two teams that have played against us have simply refused to pass the ball because they know they can run at will.

Whitley and Harlan County will be very short games at this rate lol

I will say this...
I think Perry County wins this one if not for the under-throw/interception in the second half.
#23
good job tiger win somemore im pulling for you all.

A lets give them a chance Zag Fan. They lost alot and to be playing the schedule their playing is not in their favor. Its not like their playing teams thats not no good. You lose half of your defense you expect to struggle and QB, The 3 teams they lost will all have winning season at the end of year and this will help if they have a tie breaker in the district games but they got to beat one either Somerset,Rock, or Lawrence,Co The district Letcher has played the hardest schedule this side of I-75 No one else would have played it Bell,Belfry,or Harlan,Cent. Perry schedule will help them later and so will Letchers,Cent. But Zag Fan you must be a Bulldog fan that beats Jenkins Pineville and Harlan so dont dog the DORES their not that bad.

Well Big Blu whats up is the fact that Clay Co. is a big physical football team who is big up front and even has some size to go with speed in the back field. Perry is not a bad team as i said before they have been in every game they have played this season. Some size would help this dore bunch out alot.
#27
Hey ballboy, it's true Hazard does play Jenkins, Pineville, and Harlan, but that's because they're in our district. Hazard just beat an outstanding team in Clintwood, VA (Virginia state champions) and up next is Somerset. Also on our schedule is Lexington Christian, Breathitt, Prestonsburg, and Sheldon Clark. Oh, and by the way, the Bulldogs are the only team in the mountains sporting a state championship ring.
#28
Really? I think I am just going to give up on picking the Commodores to win this year! They're really letting me down!

First time I've ever been called a bulldog fan on here lol

I have not seen Clay play this year but have been told they have some really big kids. I spoke to one of the refs from the PPC and Clay game and he was impressed with the size of some of the Clay kids.
