Whitleys offense will be a little more complex this year.
I honestly dont think we will rely on bryant as much. Ysidro is a year older and will keep the ball more on option plays, and expect Nichols to contribute. We have a really solid backfield, if we can match that with a good line, it will be hard to read our fakes and stop our dives.

Russell is looking better than ever. They can throw and pass they ball better than last year. The kids have had their minds on week 0 since the night they lost to Mercer. They want pay back and with this team thats exactly whats going to happen. I think the coaches have put it through their heads that its not going to be an easy road. The target is on Russell in the district.

If Russelll county does not improve in short yardage plays and show more confidence and patience with short yardage plays than they will under achieve again. Rarely did they put a full back to use, and Mann prefers the "big play" over checking down to a more open receiver. Nick Britt is a super talented back but he needs help and the answer is not always to spread the field as the lakers were quilty of in too many situations last year. A little power game would serve them well but it seems they have fallen in love with a speed and spread game. This works well with the mid level teams that can't match their speed but is a death trap against the better teams with more speedy defenses. Russell county can be very good but less reliance on big plays is needed with an incorporation of power and short yardage plays.

That does suck for Russell, but they do open with Campbellsville so that will basically be like a scrimmage game. Good luck this season Lakers!!!!
