In a weird interview yesterday on a Pittsburgh radio show, sports agent Ralph Cindrich was asked about the harsh penalties the NCAA brought down on Penn State and whether he agreed with them or not. He did hammer the NCAA for their decision making, calling NCAA president Mark Emmert a âbozoâ, but he sidetracked, accusing Alabama coach Nick Saban of cheating.
Cindrich joins the long line of other SEC fans accusing Nick Saban of cheating, I assume.
You can listen the full interview here, but Iâll sum it up for you.
Cindrich was asked who is monitoring the NCAA, and he had the following to say:
âThatâs a very good question,â he said. âNo oneâs watching them. You want to know whoâs watching them? Nick Saban. You want to trust Nick Saban? I have enough on Saban right now â and I realize this stuff gets out, and I also realize the truth is a defense. I know what goes on in college football, so cut me a break. â¦â
The radio hosts then backtracked from Cindrichâs opinion about Penn Stateâs penalties and focused more on the Saban accusation.
âI didnât say Nick Saban was behind this, or if I did, I apologize,â Cindrich said. âI said, âLike Nick Saban,â or, âLike the other college coaches.â Let me say this: If you go to a seedy group out there â letâs call them the agents out there of professional football players â and you start bringing them in and give them immunity ⦠you would hear things that make your hair turn gray. â¦
âLike violations. Like payola. I mean, I testify in these things, guys. Thereâs so much money â are you guys really serious? Are you that naive to think that there really isnât thousands of dollars in payola given to players to play each Saturday?â
âEverybody has something on Nick Saban, for Godâs sake,â Cindrich said. âAnd if he has a problem with anything I say, come on after me, big guy.â
Cindrich was then asked if Alabama players are paid to play football for the Tide.
âOh, come on,â he said.
âWhen you get these guys down and you get them under oath, theyâll tell you that. Sure.
âThe statute of limitations has probably run as far as any criminality was involved to what I was relating to Saban, but I was involved in it. I know what he tried to do. I know what he tried to cover up. If he wants to stand up and say something, Iâll bring that up. If itâs out of time, Iâll go to the nearest agent I know, and Iâll bring up about a dozen things that are in time, because thatâs the way he and most of the big-time schools, particularly in the SEC, operate.â
Bringing Saban into the accusation wasnât enough for Mr. Cindrich because he brought the whole SEC into the equation. Thatâs just how we âoperateâ. Operate, as in win championships. The SEC must be paying players, right?
Cindrich is of course a Pitt grad and former football player. Maybe heâs just upset because the Big East, Pittâs current conference, and the ACC, their future conference, are the doormats of college football.

It's only cheating when you get caught breaking the rules ![Wink Wink](https://bluegrassrivals.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.png)
heck, steve spurrier is in favor of paying players out of his own salary, probably cause he already does, but no one has caught him doing it, therefore he can still coach. no one has caught saban paying players, it wouldn't surprise me if he did, but he hasn't been caught... yet
this sounds like an agent that's been banned from the facilities at Alabama and he's got a bone to pick with them. the conversation went from penn state to alabama, c'mon man
