Louisville and Kentucky basketball aren't finished recruiting yet
#1
There could be late additions to both the University of Louisville and University of Kentucky men’s basketball rosters.

U of L will have four visitors on campus this week, including two who could join the program in the fall, and UK is recruiting a big man for the incoming class.

Former Virginia Tech signee Montrezl Harrell, who received his release after the Hokies changed coaches, is expected to visit U of L today through Saturday. The 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward is ranked No. 89 by ESPN.

Harrell, who also is looking at Cincinnati, Florida and Alabama, averaged 28 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks last season for Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va. U of L assistant coach Kevin Keatts is the former head coach at Hargrave.

Another player with Virginia Tech ties is expected to visit U of L on Sunday. Dorian Finney-Smith, who averaged 6.3 points and 7.2 rebounds as a freshman for the Hokies last season, also is considering Florida, Ohio State, Texas and Iowa State. The 6-8 Finney-Smith was a five-star prospect in high school.

Harrell would be eligible right away. Finney-Smith would have to sit out next season and have three years of eligibility.

Two underclassmen are scheduled to visit U of L on Friday. Keita Bates-Diop (6-6) of Normal, Ill., is considered a top-50 prospect in the 2014 class, and 6-7 Malek Harris of Orland Park., Ill., is a top-30 prospect for 2014.

UK has four incoming freshmen and two transfers but is pursuing 6-10 Tony Trocha. Originally from Colombia, he played for St. Thomas Episcopal in Houston last season and is now trying to reclassify from the 2013 to the 2012 class.

His high school coach told the Cats Pause this week that if Trocha gets the needed test scores, the likely co-leaders are Kentucky and Texas A&M. Providence, UCLA, Oregon and Ohio State also have been linked to him in published reports.

Rivals.com rates him a four-star player and said he has “generated a lot of buzz because of reportedly tremendous workouts.”

Trocha won’t have a lot of time for college visits because he’s expected to play for the Colombian national team this summer.
