Owensboro Catholic junior Becca Greenwell was one of 35 players selected to tryout for the USA Womenâs U17 World Championship Team.
Greenwell, the stateâs top player and the No. 5 prospect nationally in the Class of 2013, will head to Colorado Springs, Colo., for the tryouts on May 17-20.
Greenwell was the MVP of the 2011 FIBA Americas U16 Championship in Mexico. Sheâs recently back on the hardwood after suffering a knee injury.
Also trying out are Louisville targets Mercedes Russell from Springfield, Ore., and Brownsburg, Ind., prospect Stephanie Mavunga.
