Portia Durrett, who played her high school basketball at Seneca and later became a junior-college All-American, has signed with Oklahoma University.

The 6-foot-2 Durrett averaged 15.4 points and 7.8 rebounds as a sophomore last season at Morristown, Tenn., Walters State Community College. She was named NJCAA Region VII Player of the Year and helped Walters State to a 28-4 record.

“Portia is a talented athlete who can score inside and out,” Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale said. “She's physical, and she's aggressive and she loves to be in the gym. Our fans are going to love Portia Durrett.”

Durrett played her travel ball with the Lady Legends.
