Belfry 54 Phelps 41
#1
Belfry takes the Hornets down tonight. Interesting moment late in the game where Hurley gets fouled, Dakota Smith of Phelps gets heated, takes a technical and on his way off (and I happened to be texting at this moment, but this is what I heard) shoves Coach Varney and was escorted to the locker room by the principal.

Didn't get to see it either as I was turned talking to a few of the Belfry faithful. Interested if that is what really happened to see how Phelps handles it.

I will say this, lucky there wasn't more technicals, game was the worst officiated game I have seen all year. Then I get in the car and hear there is 5-6 in the Prestonsburg/Allen Central game.

The Pburg/Allen Central game was terrible..The refs lost control of game.

The 15th region officials are some of the worst and the clowns who called the game last night were horrible. The bigger grey headed man ranks in my top 5 officials I've ever seen, #1 being without question Dale Conn.

What would you have had that group of officials do differently. The grey haired fellow did make a mistake on a free throw he thought the ball had gone in on the shot after a blocking call when it in fact didnt but no real harm there the player got the two free throws he should have got. He might have missed a ten second call late in the first half. Other than that I thought that group did a pretty good job of keeping a heated rivalry game under control. Dale Conn is one of the most respected officials in the 15th and has been chosen bythe board to go to the All A State Tourney. The grey haired fellow has called three region tourneys. So you may not care for these guys but they are obviously respected by the coaches and board of control. A whistle only cost 6 bucks buy you one and get in the game if dont like what you see.

That aint gonna happen. People would rather sit in the stands and act like fools that have no real clue as to the rules of the game. The ones that do decide to do it end up being the "Look at me" officials.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. I didn't think that particular call was bad. Just overall, the referees in the 15th are lazy and mostly terrible. The only "respectable" official I've ever seen is the african-american man. He does a good job. Thanks, but I have much better things to do than referee high school basketball, I have a job and school so watching games is pretty much relaxation time.
