Would this be a smart decision or should it just be left as it is? Read an article today (if I can find it I will post the link) that mentioned or really just threw it out as a pro/con article. I am personally torn between this one as the NO review leaves the fans with something to hang onto. Having it would change the game of high school football dramatically!

Would love it! KY officiating sucks! That would at least help matters out a little bit.

I'm torn too, it's going to help wrinkle out the close calls, but i don't see any reason to add more expenses and time to a high school football game.

Absolutely unfeasible.

Be pretty cool, but I don't think it would ever be put into place.

Absolutely correct. In order to do instant replay (and thus have challenges) you need cameras taping the plays. Actually you need numerous cameras from multiple angles taping the plays or any instant replay system will be pretty darn shoddy and create more controversy than there currently is. That equipment is expensive. Then you have the cost and time to set up that equipment for each game. Oh and there is the cost of paying the people to operate the equipment and the cost of the ref in the replay booth.
Unfeasible is correct. As a taxpayer I'd go ballistic if my school district spent money that way; not only in these very tough economic times but even in the most prosperous economic times. If a ref blows a call that causes Highlands to lose a game, even the state championship game, I'll grumble for a while I'm sure. But at the end of the day, it's still just a blooming high school football game.
For that reason by itself, I say no. There are other more philosophical reasons I am also opposed to IR. Just leave it alone. Kids will continue to make mistakes that affect the outcome of games; coaches will continue to make mistakes that affect the outcome of games; and refs will continue to make mistakes that affect the outcome of games. It happens. Life goes on.

^ agreed Most schools barely have enough to field a team this would be to much for some.
There is nothing wrong with the current system.

Remember the referees are ALWAYS right

^I could see it for the State Championship games but nothing else. Most of those games anymore seem to be blowouts anyway.

LOL, well, I guess if we are going to fund camera crews to get 10 different angles like we get on television, otherwise - HELL NO!
What, we are going to rely on a student trainer with a hand held $80 cam corder? No, let's have all of the fans in the stands provide their camera-phones to be used for evidence. Or, let's use that film that is in the pressbox that shows all of the little ants running around on the field, I'm confident that we can get conclusive evidence from that...
OK, I was being a little hard, but seriously??? Come on, this is absolutely impossible to do!

^ This. They have a few camera men down there, use it at state. That's all.

No way! I've been on fields that didn't have enough paint for hash marks. I'm sure they don't a budget for much extra.
At state all the games are blowouts anyway. What would replay prove?
