^ You guys lose Hunter, Withrow, Whetsel, and McCloud though right? That is a lot of talented/experienced skill to lose. Having all those big guys up front with another year of offseason training under their belt will help the new guys along.

Yes but the bigger losses are on the defense where whetsel is a force as well as Corey Gregg and Chris prichard. I believe Chase Lucas may be a senior as well.

Yeah, those guys are all graduating. Ashland will have a completely new look next year and will have to reinvent themselves on offense and defense. Lucas and Bush OLB's are gone on defense too. Just saying, they will be a different team but the cupboard won't be bare. This year's team is a very diverse and talented group of players. For now, it's survive and advance and next year will take care of itself.

There are so many Athletic sophs an jrs won't see a much if any of a drop for Ashland even though there are losing some great players. the weight training/condition program that Ashland has is second to none an have a tremendous turnout for winter an spring can't imagine a team that works any harder or puts in more time. They also include the 8th grade in the training program it's not required but there were a few last year. I believe that is an absolute must have for a successful high school program. Not just throw em in a weight room an turn em loose, but an actual program with goals an everything revolves around competition.

We have some talented players coming back next year. Essentially, both lines will be back. (lose Gregg on D and Ward on O). Replacing the skill positions and DBs will admittedly, be somewhat of a challenge.
As for this year, I think the non-district schedule was really beneficial in terms of getting the team prepared for district play. Records of non-district opponents: 37-18. Records of District Opponents: 18-18 (JC and RC are both 7-2 by the way). Playing this type of schedule cannot hurt the team come playoff time either.
