When i was in school back in the last 90's, SW football was one of the best mountin programs out thedre and like so many other schools, including whitley with ,long term coaches, the program fell off and the talent quit comin out.
He's a good coach, but todays generation requires a different breed.
And SW has struggled mightily over the lst few years.

If he didn't have a choice then did he do something illegal?? i mean it really makes no sense.

I think there is more to the story because he said in the newspaper article that he wasn't ready to say why he resigned.

There is much more to the story than their record or game losses. However, at this time all of what's being discussed around Somerset is second hand knowledge that may or may not be credible. I don't think it would do anyone justice being spewed on a public forum. I'm sure once the facts surrounding what led to the resignation will come out soon.

Hopefully these young men and there families can focus on the games ahead rather than the coaching situation.

Yeah, I really hope that the ordeal is kind of kept as quiet as possible until the football season is over. For the sake of the players.

Let's just say that it's an ugly situation so far. But we will wait and see until all the facts are out in the open.

Agree, as it could get ugly.

I hate to see this happen. Coach Anderson has been a good role model for many of the coaches accross the state.

I hope for him and the people in the community this does not end up ugly.

Don't know if any truth to it maybe someone can clarify but rumor going around that coach Martin at rockcastle put in for this job?? Any body know for sure he good coach hate to lose him but wish him the best

Even with the early season record, I thought they could still make some noise in 5A.

According to this morning's Commonwealth Journal the circumstances of Anderson's resignation is the subject of a police probe. No charges have been filed yet.

I am not in the know as to what happened. But -- state law requires school systems to report certain categories of accusations to law enforcement. Reporting is not either/or, or may, or might, it is compulsory. In fact, state statutes carry penalties for schools which fail their statutory duty to report.

^ Excellent post and dead-on accurate.

I hate it for everyone at SW. May the youngmen that play and the students in the school rally around one another and finish up the season strong.
#45
I hope that the rumors that are going around are not true.

Correct, sad fact in correlation with this in May a Supreme Court ruling came down to where schools now DO NOT have to report student to student issues. Such as sexual abuse etc.

I know everybody on here is smart enough to know without me saying anything, but tread lightly when talking about this situation on here until more details come out.

Has anyone heard anymore news?
