Top girls’ teams headed to Mercy event
#1
The Raatz Fence/O’Shea’s Classic at Mercy has become one of the signature events statewide among girls’ high school basketball events.

And again this year, the event is loaded with talent.

The event will feature three games on Jan. 20 and seven games on Jan. 21 with all the games being played at Mercy Academy.

The marquee game is Jan. 21 at 8:30 p.m. when Manual, one of the state’s elite teams, meets Ohio power Twinsburg. Manual has four Division I seniors, while Twinsburg finished among the top 10 teams in the country last season.

Louisville junior commitments Makayla Epps and Kyvin Goodin-Rogers are stars at Marion County and will meet Withrow, Ohio, on Jan. 21 at 5:15 p.m.

Here’s the complete schedule:

Jan. 20 – Withrow (Ohio) vs. Butler, 6 p.m.; Ryle vs. Manual, 7:30 p.m.; St. Joseph’s (W. Va.) vs. Mercy, 9 p.m.

Jan. 21 – Bullitt East vs. Owensboro Catholic, 11 a.m.; Sacred Heart vs. Ryle, 12:30 p.m.; Lexington Catholic vs. Mount Notre Dame (Ohio), 2 p.m.; Butler vs. St. Joseph’s (W. Va.), 3:45 p.m.; Marion County vs. Withrow (Ohio), 5:15 p.m.; Mercy vs. Perry County Central, 7 p.m.; Manual vs. Twinsburg (Ohio), 8:30 p.m.
