I'm going to go with the Juggs:biggrin:
From what I'm hearing things are really happening in Erlanger right now. Renewed excitement, more players out than they've had in years, and they're going to surprise people

Lloyd
Coach: Josh Stratton (first season)
Last year: 2-9 (lost 51-6 to DeSales in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs).
Players to watch: Senior RB/LB Brady Asher; senior RB/DB Dakota Kidd; junior QB/LB Dexter Smith; senior RB/DB Daishaun Bruton; senior TE/LB Anthony Tolle; senior WR/DB Jackson Wood; senior WR/DB Quentin Nunn; senior RB/DL Chris Harris
Outlook: The running game should be a strength for the Juggernauts under new coach Stratton. Asher and Kidd combined for more than 1,000 yards rushing last season, and Smith threw for more than 500 and ran for more than 300 at quarterback last season. As with the offense, there are some good skill position players returning, with the question mark being on how the line performs.

Great team chemistry and senior leadership should lead the Lloyd
Juggernauts to a better 2011 season. Lloyd finished 2-9 last season and starts a new era under first-year head coach Josh Stratton. The former Holmes assistant coach is excited about his teamâs potential this season.
âWe expect a definite improvement on last year,â Stratton said. âWeâre playing more teams that are our size this year.â
The reorganization of districts and classes in Kentucky should help Lloyd compete against similar sized programs. The Juggernauts also increased their numbers, both on the roster and by expanding the coaching staff.
âWe have 15 seniors and our kids have done a good job of recruiting in the school to get some good athletes to come out who havenât played football in a few years,â said Stratton.
The Juggernauts have a host of returning athletes who will share carries in the option-based offense. Quarterback Dexter Smith is back, and is being pushed by Cameron Lane. Running back Dillon Smith was injured last year, but worked hard in the offseason to come back strong in 2011. Senior Brady Asher can line up at tight end, H-back, and in the backfield.
Slots Daishaun Burton and Dakota Kidd provide speed and will get the ball in a variety of ways. Mitchell Brooks and Tommy Mejolagbe lead the receivers, but will be primarily used as blockers in the run game. The Juggernauts want to keep the ball on the ground and force opponents to stop their run game.
âNot a lot of teams win state championships throwing the ball 30 times a game,â said Stratton.
While they return several experienced skill position players, the Juggernautsâ biggest question will be the offensive line. If the line can pave the way for the running game, Lloydâs offense should be tough to stop.
The Juggernauts will rotate seven or eight offensive linemen, led by senior guard Miguel Recinos and junior center Chris Schagene. Guard James Commodore and tackles Anthony Tolle and Matt Braboy will likely round out the starting five.
While the offenseâs main goal is to run the ball well, the defense is geared to stop the run. The Juggernauts will run a 30-stack base and routinely place eight and sometimes nine men in the box.
âOur No. 1 priority is to stop the run,â Stratton said. âWe are going to keep it simple, and let our kids play fast.â
Tolle, Braboy and Commodore rotate at the defensive end spots. Tyler âCowboyâ Jouett, Jason Saylor, and Rex McFarland rotate at noseguard.
Dillon Smith, Asher, and Dexter Smith lead the linebackers. Dillon Smith is the anchor of the defense from his middle linebacker position.
âHe has done a great job of taking leadership of the defense,â Stratton said.
Freshman Domonick Joseph may work his way into playing time at linebacker. Joseph has been a standout in camp.
âWeâre going to have a real tough time keeping him off of the field,â said Stratton.
Jackson Wood and Tyler York are competing for the starting strong safety spot, while newcomer Alex Armstrong will start at free safety.
The safeties will be counted on to come up and defend the run. Senior cornerback Quentin Nunn leads the secondary.
Nunn, Asher, Recinos, and Dillon Smith have provided quality senior leadership for their position groups. Lloydâs team motto this year is âFamily.â
âOur seniors are great kids,â said Stratton. âThey took the freshmen under their wing and treat them like seniors.â
The freshmen class won the middle school championship last year. The Juggernauts have more than 50 kids in varsity camp this year. With seniors hungry to win in their final season and freshmen who have championship experience, this season should be one of the best in recent history for the program.
âOur freshmen get along great with our seniors and they help each other out,â said Stratton. âThey know how to win.â
The Juggernauts open the season on Friday, Aug. 19, at Owen County.
