No way S. Oldham wins the district. It is Conner's to lose.

Conner will win District 5.

These sound about right. I'm not being biased or anything, but I think Southwestern will win District 7 in 2011. After having Pulaski run the town and the district over the past few seasons, I think the Warriors will come out on top this year. I think Pulaski losing so many seniors will hurt them this season.

I couldnt agree more

District 5 could be anyones district, in my opinion. Grant County is going to bounce back and be a strong competitor. They were playing South Oldham in their previous district in which they did compete some what at a good level. Maybe that could be a new rivalry? Connor, Cooper, and Scott are good teams but I think with Grant and South Oldham coming out of a Louisville district, the realignment should put things more at ease for them.
#8
Fancy feet we agree about almost everything except 2 things:

1-Christian County
2-Bowling Green
3-John Hardin
4-Bullit Central
5-I don't know enough to guess
6-Anderson County
7-Southwestern
8-Harlan County

I believe Bowling Green, John Hardin and Harlan County are the three best.

Franklin Co. may be someone NOT to over look with the 100m champ, and some timely transfers coming in, Tracy will have them battle tested and ready , so I would not throw in Anderson just yet, will be a interesting battle between Tracy and Peach,
#10
District 4 will be a very even battle. Any of the 4 could come out on top.
#11
I can see the arguments for District 6, but I agree with Fancyfeet on Anderson County. Franklin County will be a tough team to beat with all the talent they have coming back, but Anderson County will have alot coming back off of a team that was 4 points away from winning their region in 5A last year.

As far as your state championship picks, I'll go with Bowling Green vs. Harlan County

They may have run the district but not the town. Didn't Somerset go 27-2 and beat Pulaski and Southwestern the last 2 seasons?

Somerset came from behind to beat Pulaski in 2009, after "All-State" QB Chris Muse went down with a torn ACL, and Pulaski up two TDs in the first half. Pulaski rallied and came up a yard short, with back up QB Zach Eastham. In 2007, Pulaski beat Somerset 62-50, after being declared a 20 point underdog. Somerset won't play Pulaski every season anymore. They play every other year in the Ray Correll Bowl, at Somerset. Never at Pulaski. Coach John Hines has lobbied to play the game each season, on a home-and-home basis, but Somerset refuses.

Another "Why don't PC, Somerset, and SW play every year" post? It's not that hard to understand. It is also easy to see who has been the top dog in Pulaski County over the last two or three or even hundred years, not worth arguing in this thread. For the record Somerset was the dog in 2009. That's how this series goes, never a guarantee.
#15
Harlan County will be a team to watch for
#16
Yeah, I got confused with that. I meant like, PC ran the town between them and Southwestern....Sorry about that. Somerset was defintely a better team that season.
#17
Don't count West Jessamine out they've had pretty good seasons for the past 2 years look for more success coming out of one of the toughest districts in 4A

Alex Abner also went out in first quarter. last year would have been a sell out had they played. It is a shame they don't play every year.

And Somerset lost Derrick Jackson and Hunter Nelson. Injuries are part of the game. Pulaski replaced one all-state honorable metion quarterback with another all-state honorable mention quarterback. Injuries are part of the game, not an excuse. All we can go by is who did play and the scoreboard. The results say Somerset beat the county schools the last 2 seasons and went further in the playoffs each season so they have run the town the last 2 years.

If they only played each other EVERY YEAR, like they used to, and like they do in basketball, baseball, track, cross country, tennis, volleyball, soccer, golf, band, cheerleading, softball, debate team, test scores, and every other thing EXCEPT FOOTBALL, then we wouldn't have to guess who "ran the town."

At that time Eastham had never even taken a varsity snap-so yes it does matter. Alex and Chris was 90% of pulaski's offense at that time. They play in every sport every year other than football, everyone would just like to know why?

Shs was a good team had a good run of athletes and played in a very weak district. Story has changed alot.

Edit: I'm also tired Of hearing shs as the smaller school thing to. All I hear is how much better shs is then the county schools every year. You can't have it both ways either you a top notch program or a litle school. I don't see Danville, Boyle etc using the " we are a smaller school, those 5a teams etc should win." argument. Has shs won their fair share sure they have but they one of the 2 every year at their home field. I can see Hines point on it.

All that being said good luck to all 3 schools.

Franklin County is a sleeper to everyone except me. They will win the district and the East.

Anderson County and the rest of the East will learn one thing......Speed Kills and FCHS plenty of it. Plus two key transers will make this FCHS team that more dangerous.

Coach Tracy has done a good one in one season of turning things around at FCHS. Now with all of the talent his teams has and experienced QB running "The System" makes this team deadly!
#25
Im not saying Perry will go undefeated but they will have a real good team this season. They have worked hard this summer. Look for them to crack the Top 10 this year. Harlan will not run through them this year and neither will Pulaski.
#26
I think we heard the same stuff last year. i guess we will see.
#27
The Black Bears may not run through PCC, but there's a good chance of running Over them.
#28
The Black Bears have a bunch of hard work to do between now and then and before there is any running over or thru. Monday things will open up and the Bears will begin to see what things are lacking. The Harlan County Black Bears are not interested in rankings or predictions, but one thing is for sure, Coach Larkey and Staff will have them hungry and right after the kickoff those opponents will know what these Bears are there for. I hear these Bears have worked hard and already CHOMPIN for some... WIN!! Get to it Black Bears! Harlan County Black Bear Fans are Chompin as well. GO BLACK BEARS!!!!

Harlan County will win State Championship.

This will be Bowling Greens best team in almost 20 years. They have 33 seniors on this years team. Any team that beats them this year will certainly have to earn it. I hope to see the Purples and Bears in the finals in Bowling Green in December. I think both teams will make it.
