Three of the state of Kentuckyâs prospects in the Class of 2013 on the girlsâ side are considered among the top prospects nationally.
Itâs a loaded class.
But Iâm going with Owensboro Catholicâs Becca Greenwell in the top spot after her recent co-MVP honors for the U16 Team USA squad.
Hereâs the top 25:
⢠1. Becca Greenwell, Owensboro Catholic, 6-1: Iâll be surprised if sheâs not considered one of the top 10 players in the country after her performance with the national team.
⢠2. Makayla Epps, Marion County, 5-10: Louisville commitment is also a top-20 national player and a big-time talent.
⢠3. Kyvin Goodin-Rogers, Marion County, 6-1: Louisville commitment is another star.
⢠4. Kayla Styles, Manual, 6-1: Showed flashes of big-time performer in the postseason.
⢠5. Ashton Feldhaus, Madison Central, 5-11: Was impressed with her versatility and motor at the Sweet 16.
⢠6. China Dow, Christian Academy, 5-9
⢠7. Serena Sandusky, Bryan Station, 5-8
⢠8. Terra Banks, Shawnee, 6-4
⢠9. Larryn Brooks, Madison Central, 5-5
⢠10. Kelsey Adwell, PRP, 5-8
⢠11. Aaeron Smith, Butler, 5-9
⢠12. Cierra Drake, Nelson County, 6-3
⢠13. Kenya Turner, Washington County, 6-3
⢠14. Chelsey Shumpert, Paducah Tilghman, 5-5
⢠15. Katelyn Newsome, Sheldon Clark, 5-8
⢠16. Sydney Harris, Lincoln County, 6-0

Ryanblue, do you know anything about Banks from Shawnee? I think she is one of the few I know nothing about.

I don't know a whole lot about her but I do know that she is a very tall player.

I looked up Terra Banks' stats from last season. In her first game she had 37 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 5 steals. In their next game she had 21 points and 10 rebounds. A few games later she had 29 points and 13 rebounds. She had 21 points and 10 rebounds against Seneca. The next day against Western Hills she had 25 points and 9 rebounds. Against Eminence she scored 32 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Against Doss she scored 33 points and had 10 rebounds. Against Beth Haven she had 40 points, 16 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 steals. Against Fort Knox she scored 37 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Against Whitefield Academy she had 37 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 blocked shots. These are just a few of her games. Her coach has not posted stats for each game so the season averages are not on the KHSAA website but I'd say she easily averaged 25 points and 10 rebounds a game. However, Shawnee did not play the best competition last year.

Sounds like an absolute player!

Glad to see Kelah in the mix. I hope she can successfully rebound from her ACL.
