Western Kentucky University has announced a home-and-home series with Southern Miss in football and men's basketball.

Here is an excerpt of the release:

In addition, WKU will also begin a series with the Golden Eagles in men's basketball. The Hilltoppers will travel to Hattiesburg during the 2012-13 season, and the two schools will play in E.A. Diddle Arena during the 2013-14 season.

WKU has won all three previous men's basketball meetings with the Golden Eagles, including two in Bowling Green. WKU defeated Southern Miss, 80-56, in 1958, and also won games in 2001 and 2002.
