Former Whitesburg High School and Transylvania University star Bryan Howard is set to be named as an assistant to Bart Williams and Pikeville High School. Howard has a successful basketball history that includes an All A Classic final four in 2001-2002 and a 14th regional championship that same year. Howard finished as Whitesburg's all time leading scorer and went on to star for Brian Lane at Transylvania University where he finished his career with 1,118 points, which puts him at number 32 on the all time scorer list.

Howard was a great, great high school basketball player. He literally carried his team to the All-A in Richmond years ago. Good to see him join the coaching ranks.

Great pick up for Pikeville High School. Bryan was a great player and very fun to watch when he played. Pikeville will be pleasantly pleased with the work ethic and determination that he will bring to that program.

Its official. Howard has been hired as an assistant coach. Johnson will be coaching 8th grade and Thompson will be coaching 7th grade.

I think this is a real good fit for us and what we need to get over the edge. The kids all seem to be happy bout his hire as well and I think he will be a good person to bridge the gap between the athletes and the staff! Hail Pikeville
