He is a Junior at Lawrence County. He's a lineman.

Combs is an excellent lineman on both sides of the ball. Very gifted but also a hard worker in the weight room for what I have heard from so friends for LC. Go represent well.

Big congrats.

Did he have any other offers?

It's great to see a young man from eastern Kentucky commit to Marshall University. Congratulations, Tyler!

Doc Holiday, I believe, will develop Marshall into a formidable team in the near future.

IMO, Marshall should be getting more young men from WV & KY than they have in the past. I've heard that they are pursuing others from eastern KY, also.
#14
I agree! I think Holiday has the Marshall progrm going in the right direction. I also believe you will see more kids from Eastern Kentucky going there to play as he gets himself established.
#15
I coached Country in basketball and stay in touch with him alot. He hasnt committed anywhere yet!:dontthink
#16
Proud to say I know this young man... He is a great worker and a smart kid. Marshall has got a great kid...

Congrats Tyler!!!

HUNTINGTON, W.VA. — The Thundering Herd football coaching staff is already off to a simmering start for their 2012 recruiting class and they landed their second commitment from another junior earlier this week.
Who’s the latest member to pull the trigger early and join the Herd football family?
Well that’s none other Tyler Combs, a mammoth offensive guard from Lawrence County (Louisa, Ky.) high school.
Combs stands 6 foot 5 inches tall and currently tips the scales at a whopping 275 pounds.

What his latest numbers in the weight room? Anyone know? I know he is a great players and a tremendous person. Just curious to see what his bench, squat, clean, and 40 times are if anybody knows? (Please only post if you really know - no exagerated guesses please)

The second picture of him in a stance towards the bottom of the article is all you need to look at Smile
#20
Is Marshall offering him a full scholarship, or will he be a preferred walk on?

I would hope that he wouldn't walk-on. He is good enough for a Scholly.

Congrats to Mr. Combs.
