WESTERN HIGH SCHOOL.LOU WESTWERN FINISHED 10-3 LAST SEASON AND HAVE BEEN DIST.CHAMPIONS THE PAST 2 SEASONS. COACH PRESTON FORMALLY OF DANVILLE HIGH SCHOOL HAS HAD GREAT IMPROVEMENT AT ROWAN CO EACH OF HIS PAST 3 SEASONS DEFEATING GREENUP CO. 27-0 LAST SEASON.COACH PRESTON ALSO COACHED AT GARRAD AND LINCOLN CO.
WESTERN RETURNS THE MAJORITY OF STARTERS FROM LAST YEARS TEAM AND I WOULDNT BE SURPRISED TO SEE COACH PRESTON AND LOU. WESTERN ON THE CARPET VERY SOON.ROWAN CO. WILL MISS COACH PRESTON AND THE WORK ETHIC HE BRINGS TO A FOOTBALL PROGRAM.
THIS IS A SITUATION THAT ROWAN CO. SHOULD HAVE DONE WHATEVER IT TOOK TO KEEP A COACH LIKE DOUG PRESTON. WHEN THE 1-9 SEASONS COME BACK AROUND, BLAME NOBODY BUT YOURSELVES ADMINISTRATION.

I have heard that the admin. did try to talk him into staying but he tells the players that Western was offering to much for him to pass. I also hear that he could not deal with the lack of support he has had since coming to Rowan. The boys were shattered when he told them yesterday. Many parents are very upset with the principal. I heard there were several parents that went to the coaches house to ask him to reconsider. They also supposedly went to hte superintnedants office to demand some answers. But he told my nehpew that nothing could change his mind he was going to have a chance to win every year at hte new school.
