Mayor Nagin of New Orleans said and I quote..." New Orleans will be a chocolate city." He then says that God wants NO to be an all black city. In response to his outrageous racisist statement Nagin says this.." How do you get chocolate? You take dark chocolate and mix with white milk and make a delicious drink"... How is he in office? This is the most racsisit statement from a politician that i have ever heard.

I totally agree about the most racisist statement. My question is ...... What will be done about it??

The mayor has apologized, but is that enough?

If the roles were reversed and it were a white mayor that had made the same statement, except in terms of it being a "vanilla city" and that God wanted it to be an all white city...what would be going on in terms of the reaction of the nation?

Is it time that ALL HUMAN BEINGS regardless of race, quit being so politically correct and defensive about every little thing. I know that there are boundaries that should never be crossed, words that should never be said, etc., but enough already.

I think I understand what he means with his "chocolate" mile analogy. He probably shouldn't have used something a little different to explain where he is coming from . . .

You would have thought that everyone in that neck of the woods would have learned their lessons after Katrina (especially how to deal with the media).

Hillbilly u think u understand his analogy? i understand it perfectly... He doesnt like white people... he made similar remarks during Katrina but it was aimed at the President and our govermemtn, stating that they only helped the white people and that they didnt like blacks... Nagin is a rascisit bastard who will get away with what he said. But i promise you if he was white and had said something like that he would be cruscfied

I love new orleans
I can honestly say that this summer me and whodey spent several hours on bourbon street one night during the essance festival and we were in the minority but at no time did i ever feel at unease. of course i really could't feel anything at times.
but i love the city and if i could i would buy land there.
