RICHMOND, Ky. â Carla Booth, one of the top senior guards in Kentucky, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball at Eastern Kentucky University, head coach Chrissy Roberts announced today. The 5-foot-8 Booth is a senior at Sheldon Clark High School in Inez.
âI am extremely excited about the addition of Carla to the Lady Colonel program,â Roberts said. âCarla is a versatile and tough-nosed guard that will fit in perfectly with our system here at EKU. She is a tremendous lead guard that has the ability to both score and distribute the ball. Carla is one of the elite players in the state of Kentucky and plays for a strong high school program at Sheldon Clark.â
Booth earned all-state recognition last season as a junior. She averaged 19.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game on her way to being selected second team all-state by the Lexington Herald-Leader and third team all-state by the Louisville Courier-Journal. She shot 46 percent from the field and 79.1 percent from the free throw line.
