Why can't people wait until Sunday evening before starting new thread predictions? Most ballgames are just over and there are all ready thread predictions for the the next week. We can't even reflect on the ball game that just was over a few minutes ago. Come on we have all week to get ready for the next game.

Wanting to build up their number of posts? Nothin else to do all day? This is a good question. I guess nothing else to do but post. Carple tunnel alert. At least wait till Monday good grief.

I am going to venture a couple of guesses.
First it may be a fan that was unhappy with the results from Friday night and are wanting to put them behind them and look to the next game.
Second maybe they are really looking forward to the upcoming match up because it could be a heated rivalry or have play off implications.
Just a couple of ideas as to why the threads are started so soon.

Why not?

^ Agreed, Why not! Who cares when it is started. Isn't the emotion of what happened last night what spurs the interest in next week. It's justified. I don't wait until Wednesday to start thinking about what the Bengals will do next Sunday based on how they played and how the opponent played.
As for reflection, if there is a game result thread, then reflect away. You can reflect on that game and be concious of the next.

Don't understand your logic. If they have just gotten there first win then they would want to talk about it.
The only thing that I am saying is that we talk from Monday thru Friday about the game and then as soon as the game is over and someone starts a thread with that game and the score that is up for discussion. Then people go and start a thread for the upcoming game. The only thing that I am saying is lets at least wait until Sunday before we start a new thread.

I understand the point you are trying to make, but I can just as easily argue that I can talk about both the current game and the upcoming game equally well. One carries no bearing on the other. I don't personally start the game threads until it's almost too late to even have one, but the reality is that I don't have a problem with either. Let's face it, this site is built for the emotion of "NOW". Whatever is on one's mind should be expressed whenever they poster feels appropriate. Which goes with the prediction thread. If you will notice, just because there is a prediction thread at 10:00 Friday for two teams that have just finished their respective games, many people will not post on that game until later in the week. That is accomplishing exactly what you want. So, how does it hurt to already have the thread up with others conversing about it until you are ready to talk about it yourself? Again, IMO, it hurts nothing to have the thread up for those interested in posting thoughts or just the score. If others want to wait to see what others have posted and then comment on it a few days later, it gives you food for thought. It's not an issue.

I'm with Amped88 on this one. There are times that on Saturday mornin when I get up, get on BGR to see who all won, and it takes 30 minutes to find threads from games on friday because of all the upcoming game threads already started. I agree with some of the stuff Stardust has said, like postin in the score thread and upcomin game thread, I do it all the time. I just hate goin thru 2-3 pages on saturday mornin lookin for scores from friday night.

^ Good post Redneck. I buy what you are selling as well. I think with the added interest we are starting to get from different regions in the state, the number of threads is only going to increase, which is a nice inconvenience. I always find that the topics that have the most interest find their way to the top anyhow.

I've read some very interesting posts regarding the subject, and both views, I think, have some validity. I enjoy reading most of the posts on BGR but just as any opinion or comment may be extremely good or very poor. I would say, however, overall most are interesting, to say the least.

Here's a nice little trick to find threads.
Hit "ctrl+f" and a box will pop up.
If you are looking for the Hazard game....type in Hazard and hit enter.
It will go to the first time Hazard is spelled out on the page.....
if that's not what your looking for, hit enter again and it will go to the next time it is spelled out.
See if that helps
