Final. Good defensive battle here.

This was a really fun game to watch. Good game, Clay. You'll definitely make some noise this year. Congrats on the win, KC!!!

congrats to KC

Thanks God for an injury free night despite some tough heat. Clay is a tough team who played with class and heart. Proud of Knox for hanging tough and getting it done. DLine (Diamond, Grubb, Gilliam, and Asher) made it happen by stopping the run and pressuring pass.

Great game from 2 great teams.

Congrats Panthers, maybe this will get you guys in the Mountain Top soon.

I'm shocked that this wasn't a shootout.

Congrats Panthers!

It could have been a higher scoring affair. Clay has 8 who go both ways and it was so hot both teams had cramp issues. Knox fumbled on the 20 on the first drive and then again on the goaline on the next drive. Clay barely missed on a couple of long bombs to Hooker who I warn you will beat you if you don't have a safety who can get there in a hurry.

Knox scored on long hook up to Travis Canady on a 4th and 7. The other score came when a Knox freshman took ball several times to move us into field goal range. Codi Diamond (DLine) hit the 30-35 yard FG from the right hash to put us up for good.

It has taken years to become the program Knox now is. Still nowhere near the top - but climbing.

Mr. PBR.

You stated in earlier posts, Knox could not get over the HUMP. Well tonite Knox started the climb.**** of a game, it was the battle of will power, both teams cramping. Both teams hitting hard..the difference as stated earlier would be Line play. Knox won that battle all-night long...if Knox don,t fumble 3 times inside 20 yd line this would have been a 3 td game...so now lets be honest Knox is pretty dang good..Clay will go far in thier District..no doubt...but give Knox its due they completely took Hooker out of the game 1 rec. 2yds. Ried had negative yards mid way thru the 3rd...yes you double teamed Jeffrey Canady, and his couisn made you pay...now you be honest...........................

As long as we're being honest.......It wouldn't have been a 3 touchdown game. Knox fumbled at the 1, Clay fumbled it back to the Panthers and then sacked the quarterback on 4th and goal. So Knox had another chance inside the 10 and did nothing with it. Knox has a good team but it looked like they got really tired in the 2nd half and need to work on their conditioning. They were on the verge of blowing the game open in the first half but seemed to get very tired and slow way down in the 2nd half. This is from a neutral observer--I was there to watch the 2nd game.

All good points and things Knox is working to improve every day. The beauty of this "build" is that nobody in Barbourville is too proud to learn and improve at this point. Clay had a key lineman hurt and we as a team had some goofy penalties for delay of game, illegal subs, and one for unsportsman. If we clean those up and hold onto the ball as "lessons learned" from this game we will go into next week better and tougher to beat.

They say that the biggest improvement comes between the first and second games. Both of these teams are capable of having very strong teams this season. I didn't see any mistakes that shouldn't get fixed as the season goes along. A lot of good athletes on the field for both sides last night.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Congrats KC.

Only a bit less than what I anticipated. KC has an outstanding defense but the O is still a bit of a work in progress. Clay's D is no slouch either.

KC looks young but has a few really good athletes and will be a good team down the road.

I am stoked that Clay's defense did so well. I really thought they would be down this year? Looks like another tough game later for LCC. I also heard alot of good about KC's passing game so Clay must have been well prepared. Congrats on the win KC.

I picked Clay Co in this one because a few people said they held their own again Bell Co. Scrimmages mean nothing.

If Knox Central can eliminate turnovers, they could have a chance on most given nights.

Yes, hindsight, but if the Panthers don't turn it over, this game would've been 21-6 or worse.
