This layout is NOT taking teams like Highlands that seem to always move classes to help with travel, etc... This is PURELY male enrollment numbers (all-male schools have their numbers doubled.)

I underlined the teams that are frequently discussed on this site.

I did not know that Taylor County had that many males in the high school. If they move up, it will be even harder for them to compete than it is now.

They are shown in 5A. But the reason they moved up was lack of local teams in 4A. With what you show, there would be 5 local teams in 4A if Cov Cath and Highlands moved back down to 4A where they belong according to the numbers(maybe not by talent).

why would Breathitt County and Somerset both Move to 2A???

I can tell by looking, some of these numbers are wrong.
Time out, when did Rose Hill get a football team?
Also, 3A? Why does Russellville stay while Somerset and Breathitt go? And if you drop Bell Co. down to 3A you better bring Catholic or someone with them or no competition IMO. Do not like this proposal.

1.Heath, Reidland, and Lone Oak will merge to become McCracken Central
2.Greenwood and Warren Central will be sending students to New South
Warren
3.Shelby County will split to form the new Martha Layne Collins High
these needs to be figured in

I do not think McCracken Central is on here, but MLCH and SW are on the list.

These are just numbers. I just wanted to post the male enrollments. ALL-MALE schools have their numbers DOUBLED, just like the KHSAA does when configuring class structure.
i know that many schools will move around, I am just posting this source that is not taking that into account. This provides BGR with the list of male enrollments, just like the KHSAA will have in front of them before they make the final list.

you call ft.cambell, tilman, central, belfry,sc, no competition? sc has been the weakest of the bunch but is coming on, i think all those teams, can play with bell..they wouldnt just be handed the title..

Also, some of these schools do not have a football team, these are just schools and their NUMBERS.

No reason to double the all male enrollment since the KHSAA uses only the male enrollment. Doubling the enrollment of all male schools was only done when total enrollment was used to determine school size.

What would the districts and regions look like with this setting ?

my guess:
bell
corbin
estil
knott county central
mccreary central
would be in a district together unless there are schools closer

long drive from estill to bell and estill to any of those teams
05-24-2010, 02:16 PM
estill is probably the stretch of the bunch. but you are looking at 4-5 in that district. if it is 4 i could see estill being in another district, 5 and they are probably in, is there anyone closer?

Sorry I didn't see Ft. Campbell on there the first time I read through it but no I dont think any of those other teams will be able to compete with Bell on a high enough level. Any of the teams you mentioned with the exception of Ft. Campbell would have been beaten by at least 3+ scores against any Bell team over the past 3 years. In fact, some of them were.
