If his first game in a scarlet jersey with the letters O-H-I-O stenciled across the front was any indication, Jordan Sibert is going to do well at Ohio State.
The Princeton senior on Saturday night led Ohio to a 92-84 victory in the Ohio-Kentucky All-Star game at Thomas More's Connor Convocation Center. The game completed a two-game sweep for the Buckeye state.
"It was kind of nice," said Sibert, who scored a game-high 17 points. "It was like a little warm-up for me before going (to Ohio State). It feels good. I'm getting ready for it."
Kentucky, the pre-game underdog, led early in the second half, but Ohio pulled away late in the game. Leading 76-75 with 3:41 to play, Ohio went on a run. Sibert scored four straight points to key a 9-0 run that put Ohio in control for good. Moeller senior forward Griffin McKenzie, a Xavier recruit, helped ice the game with four points down the stretch.
"They made it hard for us to score in the last 10 minutes of the game and they killed us on the glass," said Holmes coach David Henley, who led the Kentucky All-Stars.
Ohio jumped to a 14-4 lead to start the game. Sibert had two dunks during the spurt, both on assists from future Ohio State teammate Aaron Craft of Liberty Benton.
"He did a great job looking out for me," said Sibert. "We all did a great job coming together as a team and we came out with the victory."
Newport senior guard Damarkco Foster was the top local scorer for Kentucky. He had eight points. Holmes senior guard Ricardo Johnson scored seven.

I realize you were joking, but Ricardo Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, and Demarko Foster were the only 3 kids from nky who participated in this game.
