Rocket freshman Darryl Hicks drew state-wide attention with his 30-point performance in the Sweet 16 and speculation about his future.

Despite a flurry of Internet message board posts suggesting Hicks is going to Scott County next season, his father, Darryl Hicks, Sr., said there are no such plans for next year.

“No Scott County. No,” Hicks, Sr. said. “We don’t have any plans for next year. We’ll be in Shelby County.”

But will he still be at Shelby County or the new school, Martha Layne Collins H.S.? I imagine the schools will have defining boundary lines to determine which school students will attend.

Since he went to middle school at Shelby West, I assume he will attend Martha Layne Collins, but they are making some small changes to the boundary lines.

He could possibly be up for MR Basketball one day.

Just a wild guess here, but I would suppose one of those "small changes" will be gerrymandering him into Shelby County's district.

I have been reading that everyone thinks Collins is not hiring their coach until late spring. Just got word they hired Coach Curtis Turley
