In your opinion
Should coaches have contact with players from other schools for any reasons without the coach from that school having full conent.This IS NOT directed at anyone just wondering what the general opinion on this is? Also what is the KHSAA policy or standards on this?(IF ANY) Not making accusations in any way ( to set the record straight) but would like to know the general opinion on this. ALL OPINIONS WELCOME.

Maybe if the player was moving and the move was for sure and he contacted the coach to see how he would fit into the system then I would have no problem with that.

No Contact! Don't know if there is any rules on if the kid approaches the coach. Would just tell them the rules, and try to do it by the book. Direct them to the AD and let them tell them the legalities.

By law 10 of the KHSAA rules addresses whether a coach should contact a player at another school and what a coach is supposed to do if he/she is contacted by a player of another school. See http://www.khsaa.org/handbook/bylaws/bylaw10.pdf

In other words, a high school coach can't talk to any football player that is not with their feeder school. If a kid comes up to a coach, he suppose to direct him to the A.D or principal. If the h.s. coach talks to him, he is guilty of recruiting!!!!! The sad part is if a kid comes up and someone would take a picture, they can file that with the khsaa. If the kid end up going to the school it could be investigated.

Dont get me wrong, this happens everyday, I would just love for someone to get caught so the khsaa would throw the book at them.
