Who would have thought that a team who lost to Shelby County a few weeks ago would become one of the best teams in the state in just a week. Josh Sewell is definitely the favorite thus far to win the Mr. Basketball award.

Congrats Shamrocks!

I agree BCA. Sewell is playing better than anyone in the state right now.

Justice is a very good player and definitely a candidate for Mr. KY Basketball, but what will hurt him is Shelby Valley's schedule. Other than the All A State Tournament, SV will have a hard time getting any state recognition playing the schedule they do. Not knocking the team or Elijah, they just don't play the competition that Trinity, Scott Co., or Holmes plays.

Putting up 25 against a 15th region team is totally different than putting 25 up against a 7th or 11th region team. Sewell will do this every week. Trinity travels to Lexington Catholic and plays in the Republic Bank Classic next week.

Trinity will play tougher district games than Shelby Valley will play all year untill they get to Rupp in the state tournament.

The Mr. KY Basketball player will already be determined by then.

Let's don't turn this into another Shelby Valley/Justice thread!

Sewell has to be the CLEAR favorite for Mr. Basketball now.

MVP of KOB, averaging over 20 a game against KOB competition.

Mr Basketball is too important to give it to a player who hasn't proved himself against the top level competition and Justice won't get that chance because of a weak schedule.

Not Justice's fault but you can't penalize Sewell and the others who have excelled against the best!! Would Justice have done this--we'll never know?

Give it a rest. Justice is good but not the best in the state. Josh Sewell just averaged over 20ppg in one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country.

Let's not take away from his performance and Trinity's win by turning this in to an Elisha Justice/Shelby Valley thread.

As of right now, Josh Sewell IS the front runner for Ky Mr. Basketball, whether you like it or not.

I said it before and I'll say it again....Justice is very good but won't win Mr. Basketball for the simply fact that his coach didn't put together a schedule that will give him exposure against the top teams in the state.

My thoughts exactly.

Congrats to Trinity on the win. I thought their defensive pressure would be the difference but never imagined they'd hold Seneca to just 42 points. Trinity is a legit top 5 team.
