QB at Ft Campbell is a great player, as well as the RB from LCA. Cant wait to see who wins.

This comes around every year about Mr. Football in this state. I have made argument after argument regarding this award and the voting process. I have even gone a far a to call AP guys and ask them who they were voting for. I found out one thing that was across the board. They only know the players that they get paid to cover as a sports reporter. The guy in Louisville could care less about the guy in the hollow of eastern KY. They don't get paid to know and I can understand that. Bottom line. You take anyone of those finalist and have them play in paintsville and they don't have a chance. It's just the way.

Now for the Collingworth thing. Someone up north that covers Highlands football had there head in the sand.

why is everybody so worked up about collinsworth? i watched him play a few times and yeah he's good but not the greatest thing in the world. Mr. Football 2009 is going to be the one and only Miles Simpson

Austin is a great player. I think the problem with the Mr. Football Nominees and Austin is the fact that he is not included. That does not mean that he will win , but the fact that he is not included in the 18 selected Mr. Football nominees is absolutely stupid. Really don't think anyone is questioning if he is the best and deserves the Mr. Football award going by the criteria of how they select Mr. Football (Stats) but he certainly deserves to be on the list.

Personnally I think it is embarrassing to the Mr. Kentucky Football selection committee to not select a player that is playing in the Army All American Game and that has the amount of D1 offers that Austin has. Not to mention he has been All State in 2 and for sure 3 different postitions in his high school career and the Paul Horning award. What were they thinking?
