Very ugly first half couldn't find the basket but with a little better defense and a couple of timely shots Dorton looked a little better in the 3rd quarter and took the lead, going on to win this one. I guess a win is a win even if it is ugly.

Another win! The Wildcats are on a runaway train. They will be even harder to beat as the season goes on. Lets just hope we aren't peeking to early. Playing with a lot of confidence! Great job coach you are a great example of practice wins games and motivates. Great numbers for the bg girls with rebounds, points, and blocks against a big team- the Honaker girl has a great future. Lets keep the train running all the way through the county championship!

All of Johnson Co games are ugly. We play defense and rebound but are not a high power offense team. Dorton moved the ball well and wore us down. In the third quarter they were able to get more opens shots, especially 3 key three pointers that changed the game. Dorton has good ball handling, good shooters and a good inside game. It is hard to defend a team that has all those elements to go with good ball movement. Dorton is a very good team and are in better condition than we are. This was only our 4th game and hopefully we will get in better shape. Congrats to Dorton, they play team ball as good as anyone.

They aren't peaking, it's more like a rollercoaster not a train. Playing just good enough to win. When and if we get on all cylinders for few games it will be fun to watch. Not that they're not fun now but too many turnovers and not lookin score.

Have to agree it's more like a rollercoaster, not even game to game but from 1/4 to 1/4. I would love to see them play a few games(the entire games)at their best, because it seems like they are just playing hard enough to win at times or(ConfusedleepSmileat others, and they'll find themselves in games they won't be able to turn it on when they won't to. If these girls would eliminate some turnovers(bad passes)and play hard the entire game I think they would be very hard to beat and will have a very good year. Keep up the good work and play hard.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves about the county, but I agree Dorton's big girls(Smallwood, Honaker and Newsome) can play with any other teams bigs that I have seen when they play hard and are aggressive, they can pretty well control the inside on both ends. I also think that they will play a big part in determining just how far Dorton will go this year. If these girls continue to work and play hard they have the potential to do some good things and will have bright futures ahead of them, so keep working hard girls.

Dorton is the early favorite in Pike County after beating Pikeville but i wouldn't write them in as county champs just yet. The game was played at Dorton and we all know how it is when you play at home.

With the tournament held at Mullins, Pikeville, Dorton, Virgie and Elkhorn could all end up as the champions before its all said and done.
