Coach Brooks on SEC Media Day
#1
I watched Coach Brooks on ESPNU. He did a great job answering the media's questions. Coach Brooks, along with the ESPNU experts, said that this coming UK team will be much better than last year. According to what Coach Brooks and the ESPNU experts, UK has multiple NFL-bound players (including a cornerback and I think a defensive tackle). Coach Brooks also mentioned how he wasn't satisfied with the past 3 seasons; he wants to win the SEC championship.

I agree too. He really answered questions very good, and the future is bright for UK football.

I like his sentemental talks such as the one he had about Joe Peterno...Just makes you think at what the the guy has seen...what all hes done in his carrier...and like he said if he can lead Oregon to a Pac-10 championship and reshape them from a no body to a great team...its only a matter of time that the Cats will break through the gate that year is NOW!!!

Did he address the issue along the defensive line? I haven't been to concerned about the defense up until this point. The only starter we return is Corey Peter. The defensive ends have little to no Division one game experience, I'm a little worried.

Well this wont ease your worry any Demtri Merrit will not enroll so that hits us at the DE position pretty bad. however this team will be fine reports have it that one of our DE is squating 575!

Coach Brooks said he's not worried about the defensive line, that we will have a good defensive line this year. What he is worried about is his offensive line. He said he's having to use at least one freshman for the offensive line.

Micah Johnson came out of high school as a linebacker/running back. He has played only linebacker defensively while in college, partially the reason he chose UK. Coming out of high school, he was ranked as one of the top defensive ends. Just curious if anyone besides Micah himself would be opposed to him moving to DE this season. I know he's an All-SEC selection at LB but I have a feeling moving him to DE would bolster us defensively for this seasons. Anyone have thoughts?? If you can't tell I'm concerned about UK's d-line.
