I think that they will have a good football team. But I don't think that they will have the season that they did last season. They lost alot ot graduation they will be very competitive in their district but finishing 2nd to Marion IMO.

I agree. People over there aren't used to Preston's run right at you style.
Nothing fancy, Here we come, stop us if you can. They started off slow last year(1-3) but Peston took over the offense and turned it around from heading to a 500 team to making the state finals. Whatever changes he made was the right ones.

He made some good changes. Hope he can keep everything together.

I wont be shocked one bit to see Bullitt East start off the season 5-0. Yes, 5-0. Thng is, nobody is really going to expect them to do that, at best 3-2. I won't be shocked to see them run the table on the 1st half of the season, though.

Preston's style of play with the Wishbone gives his kids a chance every time they line up to play. It keeps the ball on the ground, the clock rolling and out of the hands of the more talented teams that they will play like Dunbar, Shelby County, Lou. Easter, etc.

I once heard an old school coach say that the the traditional, run heavy offenses like the wishbone, single wing, wing-t, Straight T, split veer, etc., if ran descent with average players, is an "equalizer", but if ran great with above average players, then those offenses can be "punishers".

I love watching teams like Bullitt East and other "3 Yards and a cloud of dust" teams play against the fancy Air Raid type teams. Because those 2, 3, 4 yard chunks move the sticks, keeps the ball away from those other guys and that clock just keeps on ticking away.

This is true but I don't think they will make it as far as they did last season.

I overheard him talking at a clinic in June and he was saying they will be huge up front and very strong. Don't know details though. Nobody thought they would make it to the championship game. And everybody predicted a Bell blowout. I thought Bullitt was every bit as good. That game came down to a single play at the end. Funny thing is I saw Hilton and Preston talking the whole clinic. I guess we know who he got his offense from.

That's awesome!! Actually, here is guessing that he got the most of his offense from Marty Jaggers and Sam Harp. Jaggers hired Preston as an assistant back in the mid-90's at Lincoln County, then the two later coached together at Danville as well in the early 2000's. Jaggers has always been a wishbone guy and Harp has been more of the flexbone, straight t, etc. type of guy. Jaggers and Preston are very close friends from my understanding.

They very well may not, but the best part about it for Preston and his bunch is that nobody will be expecting them too. One would have to like knowing that a year removed from playing in the State Finals, that there is no pressure on them to do it again. Their run last year was amazing, though, wasnt it? I agree, it was an amazing turnaround.

I know there are a lot of plays in a game that change it. I'm sure there are 2-3 play calls the BE staff wish they could take back from that day.

Sure wasn't anything to do with the heart and effort of that big Fullback from BE! There are some Bell County boys who still owe him for the rides he gave them!
