What do you expect out of the Blackcats next season?
Prestonsburg returns one starter in Michael Burchett, but the Blackcats also return Cameron Tincher, Tyler Hall, and Joseph Jamerson who received a lot of playing time and starting expierience this past season.
Prestonsburg needs players such as Josh Blackburn, Warren Blackburn, Kyle Gearheart, and Zak Key to really step up and improve on nearly every aspect of their game.

With what Prestonsburg has, next season looks pretty bleak. Very little experience returns and players will be playing next season that maybe got in 5 Varsity games this past season. I think Coach Pack will do a fine coaching job though, as he always does.

It may just be a long year for Blackcat basketball.

With only one Starter returning in Burchett, and everyone one of them playing football and will be playing football up into late November.
I look for P-burg, to get off to a slow start, and get better around the ALL A.
P-burg will more than likely be the 3 seed in the 58th.

I agree with Calipari that P-burg will not be at full strength until Football is over and may start out a little slow. There are several schools around the area in the same situation. I do believe by the end of the season they will be in the mix for another District Title. They basically have three players returning that started at one time or another. Burchett, Tincher and Jamerson. The other players I see getting substantial playing time are: Josh Blackburn, Zak Key, Kyle Gearheart (Seniors); Cory Carter, Seth Carter, Caleb Petry, and Warren Blackburn (Juniors). The also have some solid young players that may see a little time by the end of the year. Cory Bentley, Cody Bentley, Tyler Shelton, and Blake Goble (Sophomores).

It's nothing against P-burg. They probably will at least be in the state semi-finals in football. Which will run them to till the end of November, if i'm not mistaken.
They play BL early in December, or will have to, by looking at their schedule.
Jack Pack obviously knew that the football team was the real deal. Because he scheduled 5 out of 6 conf. games, after Jan. 1st. Smart move, IMO.
Allen Central wont be great, but they will be improved.
Betsy Layne lost Head, Tibbs and Tackett. Head and Tibbs started every game. Tackett started around Half, if I'm not mistaken. They return Martin, Adkins, and Maldonado. Newman should be able to help, but this will be his 1st season actually getting alot of minutes. Sub Steven Johnson, tore his MCL and is recovering. Derrick Tackett who will prolly be the backup PG, is coming off a knee injury, ACL I think. Transfer Tyler Reznick, may not be fast enough to play Newsome's style.
Colt Stumbo, never has recieved quality minutes, just spot mins. here and there last season. And the same goes for Adam Howell.
BL will finish in the Top 2 of the conf., no doubt about that.
SF was never at full-strength last season. They had 3 players (2 starters and 6th man) miss the first game against AC, if I remember correctly. And didn't the Hall kid miss over half the season, last year?
Can't wait to get the season started.

What Freshman are playing other than Bryson Williams?

The talk around Prestonsburg is that there are a few players (including starters) possibly not playing this year. If the names I'm hearing are correct, it could be a long season for Prestonsburg.

I've been hearing much of the same. That's the reason I posted this.

Prestonsburg is definitely hurting.

I don't know how good they're gonna be this year but i do know that they're fans are INSANE!! Because i went to the Country Music Highway Classic at Johnson Central last year and it was Prestonsburg vs Johnson Central and the Blackcat fans were crazy!!

I still see Pburg either winning the district or runners up.. Justin Jackson isn't transferring.. I don't know about Stumbo or Salisbury, but I doubt either of them will leave AC in the middle of the year. But I see it being a rematch of last year's district final, and it could go either way.
