Solid win by Eastern over a Central team who is my pick to win the 6th region, despite their poor record. They had a tough go of it without football studs Ridge Wilson and Tim Patterson, who happen to be quite good at basketball as well.
Eastern's defense and rebounding was once again the story, the first quarter was a grinder with Eastern having a small lead and then the separation began to be apparent in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. No one for Eastern had an amazing game, just solid all around team basketball, which is how this team plays. Jon Davis played solid inside against UK (Football) committ Ridge Wilson, and I am continually impressed with his basketball ability. I hope he can grow a few more inches and be that bigger inside presences that this group of young players is missing.
Solid win for Eastern, going into another game tommorrow night at Moore. That game could be dangerous, but I think Eastern's defense will be able to slow down Mosley enough to pull it out.
