Results from Pike County Girls Tournament

The 1st and 2nd rounds were played today at Elkhorn City.

1st Round

Millard defeated Kimper
Phelps defeated Virgie
Mullins defeated Johns Creek

2nd Round

Elkhorn defeated Millard
Pikeville defeated Belfry
Johns Creek defeated Phelps
Dorton defeated Mullins

Semifinals scheduled for Wednesday

Elkhorn vs Pikeville @ 6:30
Johns Creek vs Dorton @ 8:00

Why Didn't Belfry Or Pikeville Have 2nd Round Can Not Figure This Out!!!!!!

There are 11 teams in the county. There are 5 in the North and 5 in the South. Pikeville rotates, and is in the South this year. Therefore, there are 3 play-in games to make it to the 8 team bracket. Belfry was a #2 in the North and Pikeville was #3 in the South. They each got a bye. The other number 2 and both #1 seeds also got a bye.

the girls had alot to live up to by the previous county wins belfry had...the girls thought they were terrible but actually they were better than they thought if they got a bye....
