Hazard 2-3 in the redzone
Pendleton GC QB had 6 total td's on the night along with 198 total yards.
Olinger had a good game, but fumbled two times on QB sneaks that ended two scoring opportunities for the Bulldogs...Could have been a different outcome if the Bulldogs could have held on to the ball.

If Hazard really wants to be considered a contender than they had better play much better defense than that. WOW!

I agree, I cant believe that Hazard gave up this many points. Im sure Hazard will look better than this as the season moves on. How did Michael Campbell look for the Dawgs?

Hazard done exactly what they did against LCA last year in the playoffs. Drive down the field to take the lead and then fumble then the next couple of plays goes 98 yards for a TD. Good Game for Green I wish them the best of luck.

I'm not shocked. I had actually picked Green County in the weekly pick' em at school before our power went out before I submitted. Just forgot to repick my picks after that.

I think it was only 2 people to pick the Dragons to win this game. I guess besides myself you was the other one LoL
Hazard is a very good football team and will make some noise

The biggest amount of Hazard's passing yards came with 5 min. left in the game. If Green County had recovered the on-side kick, the score would not have been as close as it was.

Hazard never stopped but Green County seemed to always have an answer...Great game...

I Think this game SHOCKED alot of people in the mountians. I remember several people on here saying "Hazard will name the score"
Hazard is a very talented team and I wouldn't be surprised if they play at Papa Johns. After watching Green play both LCA and Hazard I would give the edge to Hazard, but depth my be a factor for the Bulldogs as the season goes on.

GC had 502 yards rushing?! That's unreal. What happened to Hazards defense?

I agree after seeing Hazard and LCA I would think Hazard is the better team.

I hate this more than anything, to start a season 0-1 for the first time in 5 years. I hate it for all the seniors, and Hazard supporters and it makes me sick to think about it. But, I am also mature enough a person to realize that this loss may have been a good thing for many reasons. Reason 1, the pressure and target on our back coming off last season to win is gone, no more pressure we can now focus. Reason 2, we learned a lot about where we stand mentally and with mistakes. From our stands to our sidelines to our starters there were a lot of things wrong. However, most of them were fixable and mental. Reason 3, we can learn from this loss and it showed a lot about our team and the fact we will never give up until the final whistle sounds.
We got beat and I wish the best of luck to Green Co. They were a very good football team whom I think we could have beaten if we hadn't made so many mistakes and had our minds right. But oh well, it is the first game of the season and we will learn and change as a team. No excuses for this game except for the fact that Green Co. was a very good team and, as I said, I wish them the best of luck.

The Bulldogs had their opportunities to make it a game last night but they did not make the plays they needed to make, and Green County did. I understand that you think Hazard could have beaten Green, and they could have. But Green could have beaten Hazard worse than they did if they could kick the ball or convert 2-point conversions. Both teams played hard and will learn from the game. Good luck to both the rest of the season.

I agree with olddawg hazard will learn from this loss and build from it later on in the season and also they realize now what it feels like to lose.

Green Co. had a running game that was immaculate. Hazard will adjust to this kind of threat and be ready next time. I would put my bet on Hazard if these two met again.

Well said. As much as we would like to, we're not going to win every game we play...but we can learn something from every game we play. With that said...
GOOOOO DAWGS!!!!!!

Green Co. could have played ALOT better too. They didn't convert 1 P.A.T the entire game. Hazard also recovered an onside kick, fumbled a ball that went into the end zone and THEY recovered for a TD. And Green co. missed SEVERAL tackles in the 4th quarter on TD's.
Hazard is a good football team (it wouldn't surprise me at all if they won Class A) but don't sell the Dragons short. Not many gave the Dragons a chance saying Hazard would win by as many as they want and it would be running clock the 2nd quarter.

This may be just what Hazard needed, from a mental prep. standpoint. They may even lose 2 more, but come playoff time, they will be ready to make a second run at a 1A title.
