A great fought game between both teams. The score doesn't show how hard these two teams played. Great way to start off the season Cougars! Harlan keep your heads up, you have a very bright future! GREAT GAME TO BE AT!!!
A thriller, Harlan was up by 2 with 1 minute to go and the Cougars clawed their way to victory on a Charlie Banks rushing TD, which all but sealed the deal.

I knew that Harlan Co. would show up and they did. Great way to open up and keep on fighting hard, we will see you next year. Looks like the Cougars have a real legitimate chance to go undefeated in the regular season now. Clay Co. seems to be having alot of problems early on.

LCC played a great game as did the Black Bears. We had an opportunity to win this one, but missed two well placed passes. Passes that will be caught later in the season. We had some mistakes that will be corrected. I was awfully proud of them for not giving up. It was a GREAT game to go watch as a fan and LCC was very hospitable to us. You folks have dandy facilities.

The Black Bears fought hard and and are only gonna get better. Big Grin

Both teams had their chances to win this one. HC missed several scoring opportunities and LCC had six turnovers.That's what happens when kids are playing in front of 5000+ fans. Great atmosphere. very "fun" game to watch. HC (fans and players) represented themselves very well and are a class act. Lcc is a great host for all of their sporting events and tonight was no exceptionThese two programs both have the opportunity to "grow" and both will be able to compete with anyone by season's end. I really enjoyed watching the coaching matchup between the Howards and Larkey. Both sides showed that they are coaching boys into manhood and the lessons these kids learn willl do nothing but prepare them for success in their lives. I look forward to this becoming a great rivalry in the years to come. Congrats to both teams.

Harlan was not up 2 with a minute to go. The Cougars were up three. What game did you watch? The Cougars almost gave this game away. They should have beat them by 3 touchdowns.

Great Game. I am filled with pride and excitement for the Black Bears! We played a good game and had a chance to win against a quality team. Great atmosphere, Great facilities, and a Great Game, I will look forward to traveling across the mountain every other year!

By the way the middle school teams will play each other this coming Thursday in Harlan.

Lcc kept composure after falling behind by 13. Bears will improve over course of season. Great game to watch. Look forward to the series continuing.

Both quarterbacks were instrumental in their teams success.

I heard around 4500 attended. It was a GREAT college atmosphere feel to the game!

Harlan County is legit and proved they are going to be a force. Congrads to LCC for hanging in there and getting a good quality win.
