Congrats Valley and MVP BJ Roberts:Thumbs:

Valley may be a suprise team this season, I personally thought this game would have been much closer. SV is a competitive team and BJ Roberts could be the best kept secreat in the Mountain football scene.

I was at the game and stayed until the fourth quarter. I will give a synopsis of how things went down...

Valley was penalized on the opening kickoff, and had to start deep in their own zone. A quick punt gave East Ridge good field position and the Warriors semed to be in good shape. But a fumble turned the ball back over to Valley and it was all downhill from there for the Warriors. SV scored a TD on that possession, then after a punt Valley capped off a long drive with another TD. SV would score once more just before the half to make the halftime score 22-0.

Coming out of the break, East Ridge scored a TD to pull within 22-6, but it would get no closer. ER was unable to stop Valley's ground game, and some costly turnovers allowed things to get out of hand. When I left, SV had just rung up their fourth TD of the 3rd quarter, and with the score having ballooned to 48-6, the game was pretty much over.

I don't have stats, but I know that SV put up some good numbers running the ball. They didn't look to throw much, unless it was in the fourth after I left. ER did actually look to pass a few more times, and their QB seemed to have some talent, but this just wasn't their night.

Congrats to Valley, good way to start the season. Good luck to both teams in their next game.

Congrats to Valley, they played well and will continue to get better. Although, I do not understand why a head coach would call a timeout with 11 seconds to go in the game with a 40 POINT lead, to set up another play. Just not necessary IMO. Run the clock out, take your victory, and head to the house!

Kinda figured the score would be this way. Congrats SV.

I watched the game last night on T.V. Valley has a VERY impressive freshman RB that I noticed. He is #20 I believe. The kid run very hard and has great speed.

Good game by SV done pretty much what they wanted. ER be patient team looked more aggresive than teams in the past I think your new coach will turn things around up there
#12
I predicted that this was the kinda game it would be..Saunders prepares and motivates his kids as well as any coach Ive ever seen...Things won't get any better next week for the Warriors either as they go across the state line and play Grundy.

I was at the game and saw number 3 on the bench after the first couple of plays and then he was not dressed after halftime.
Any status on him?

Congrats Valley
Good luck East Ridge

At times when ER came out you could tell who the better team was. I believe if ER kept the momuntum they started off this game could have been diffrent. Congras Valley and Good Luck ER and Coach Brad Allen.

As much as it kills me, I saw the same ER Head hanging as soon as they got behind. too much quit in em. What disappointed me most was that the coaches allowed Saunders and Valley out "class" them. the kicking an spitting, and attitudeof the ER players ad staff was a little embarrasing.

Valley looked good after the initial drive!! Could give some teams some problems down the road if everyone stays healthy. As for ER, I think they R buying into the new system. Which will allow them to get those kids out. Kids like to play in that type of offense. BEST OF LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS!!

Congrats Valley! Kevin is by far the best coach that has every been apart of that program.

As for ER, I really enjoyed watching their offense. I hope that the administration and the BOE leaves this young kid alone and let him attempt to build something. This type of offense will get kids out, and if you have a few athletes out there it will open a lot of things up. Good luck to ER and all the EKY teams!

Good win for Shelby Valley. They have some very good football players. On both sides of the ball Hughes was all over the place and Roberts played great with a fumble recovery, int for a touchdown and two rushing touchdowns. The next two years look promising for the Cats.

I believe that is Logan Lucas. He is a cousin to Jonah and Elisha Justice...

I watched the game

Shelby Valley ran alot of funky running plays that seemed to work well against East Ridge

Shelby Valley could do some damage this year judging by the way they played against East Ridge
