Magoffin County Hornets 2008

How do you all think the Hornets will be next year?

I think it will be a down year for them. somewhere from 1-9 to 3-7.

Magoffin will be better than East Ridge and will make the playoffs on the back of that win. I don't think they will be as good as they were last year, but Chester McCoy has definatley brought the Hornets a LONG way. I wish the Hornets the best of luck, maybe if they play well they could get Pike Central and have a 3 seed, but I think it will be a hard win at PCC. Good Luck

I disagree. I think Magoffin County and East Ridge are at the same leval with each other. They have played close games with each other for the last two seasons. And both arnt far from Pike Central's leval. I think Magoffin and East Ridge will be right there with Pike Central for the 3rd seed.

East Ridge has a looooong way to go right now. First of all they still havent publicly named a head coach. Secondly, if Allen does get named head coach the Warriors will implement a brand new offense that will take a long time to adjust to. Third, ER just simply doesnt have alot of talent and experience returning.

Pike Central will be tough for ER and MC to beat this year. Aaron Maquire returns and the Hawks have more numbers and experience than the Hornets and Warriors. The District should look something like:

1. Belfry

2.Sheldon Clark

3.Pike Central

4. Magoffin
5. East Ridge

Magoffin and East Ridge will be fighting for that fourth spot for a while unless they get moved to a new district.

McCoy is doing a great job at Magoffin, it will take a few more years for them to consistently win 4-6 games a season. It doesn't look to good for Magoffin this upcoming season as I only expect them to win 1-3 games.

The East Ridge game should be a dandy as it will more than likely determine who gets the 4 seed.

I'm gonna have to say bad in the coming up year, Paintsville middle beat them last year 54-28 and Paintsville schedule was 5-6.

I also think Magoffin and East Ridge will be about the same this year. It doesn't matter how many games they win, all they have to do is win that one game for the playoffs. I think if they work hard they may be able to compete with pc though.

Magoffin is looking pretty good this year. They will defeat East Ridge for sure, they don't even have a chance.

With that schedule 6-4 is very possible with wins over South Floyd, Allen Central, Jenkins, East Ridge, Phelps, and Morgan County.

Pike Central is a stretch to beat making it 7-3....

I don't see any possibility of beating Estill County, Belfry, and Sheldon Clark.

Worst Case- 4-6, miss playoffs
Best Case- 7-3, 3 seed in District

Although I no longer live there I still have to root for my alma mater. Good luck this upcoming season Magoffin County. This old Grape Creek boy still loves his Hornets. I believe that I'll try to make it to the Morgan County game. How are the Hornets number wise this year?

Don't under estimate Magoffin. They have talent all over the field. Not much expierence at the QB position which may serve as their downfall. Still this is football and anything can happen. Best of luck to the Hornets from Hornet Nation. Hornets go 5-5.

Magoffin hasnt had talent at the QB position since Mike Caba played there. It wouldnt matter if they did anyway, because all they ever do is run the ball. It will be interesting to see how good this team is this year. As many people may know, they have trouble getting alot of guys to come out and play, they always have low numbers and never really have alot of depth because of it. I would love to see them have some success this year, but it will be tough for them. I know im usually low on the anything magoffin related but I have always had a place for the football team and I do wish them the best this season.

1 - 0!! as of right now Congrats on defeating South Floyd Hornets!! I came to the game at half-time and it was tied 12 - 12. The hornets where down the whole game and they came back and won! Way to go.
