Awards announced for Focus High School Football Combine

PRESTONSBURG, KY. – Awards have been announced for the inaugural Focus High SchoolFootball Combine. In addition to having the opportunity to push and test themselves in preparation for the upcoming season and working out in a spotlight effort that will be showcased to college football programs across the country, players will have the chance to compete for various awards.

Fastest, Strongest and Top Performer awards will be distributed to players in freshman, sophomore, junior and senior classes as part of the Focus High School Football Combine. A Combine Top Prospect award for the leading overall participant (in any class) will be handed out as part of a post-event ceremony. Awards will be presented based on the individual player performances put forth as part of the combine. Players in attendance will have the chance to claim the awards and rank among the best in a combine that will feature numerous college football prospects.

The inaugural Focus High School Football Combine – set for Saturday, June 14 at
Prestonsburg High School – will give high school football players in Kentucky and
surrounding states the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents. All coaches
from NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and junior college football programs receive
full results from the event. In addition to full results sent via email and regular
mail, video will also be distributed to all college football programs.

The combine will be comprised of the 40-Yard Dash, 20-Yard Shuttle Run, Bench Press
(Repetitions of 185 pounds), Vertical Jump and Broad Jump.

Preregistration for the combine continues. The combine is open to all high school
football players.

"The awards program adds to the combine experience and a player's resume," said
Focus High School Football Combine Director Steve LeMaster. "Players who participate
in this combine can walk away with the distinction of being one of the very best
high school football players in their class or any class in Kentucky or another
surrounding state. Parents of players from Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia,
Tennessee and Ohio have made inquiries about the combine. Any college recruiter is
quick to take note of a player who ranks as the best in his class or at his
position."

The high school football team that has the best representation in the combine (based
on the results of the top four players) will garner the Top Team award. Awards will
include trophies and plaques.
The Focus High School Football Combine will coincide with the final day of the
annual Prestonsburg High School 7-on-7 passing tournament.
A postgame meal will be provided at the conclusion of the combine. Each combine
participant will also receive an event T-shirt and individual and full combine
results.

Preregistration for the combine is $50. Onsite registration will get underway at 8
a.m. on Saturday, June 14. Registration on the day of the combine is $60.
